Three Nations Pointed To Space

After the first major war on Kerbin the three largest allied nations invaded the enemy nations for technology and weapons.

What they found was not expected.

The Nations

The United Kingdom of Kerbin [uKK]

The UKK are renown for there planes.

They have focused on getting to space via satellite launching planes, SSTO's and jet assisted rockets [JARS]

Motto - Ut per spatium soaring

The Union of Soviet Socialist on Kerbin [uSSK]

The USSK are known for there aerospace program being very successful and efficient but not to safe.

Motto - Suus ' optimus efficiencyat

The United States of Kerbin [uSK]

The USK only recently thought about space travel due to religious leaders trying to condemn science.

The USK are more focused on safe rockets rather than efficiency.

Motto - Safty primum , secundum efficientium

Day 1 Year 1

UKK

On 01/01/01 The UKARG developed two Satellite Delivery Vehicles [sDV] for the UKK Space Progam.

After the first testflight of the double Turbojet design ended in loss of the vehicle from a spin and crash.

But the testflight of the single engine SDV was more successful and was only destroyed due to pilot error on landing.

The UKKSP decided to take the single engine SDV and improve on it to make it spaceworthy.

The USSK

After serious research into rocketry the USSK were finally ready to put a deadweight payload into orbit.

After putting the Koyuz-1 rocket on the Dead Kerbal Pit launch pad they launched.

But after only a few seconds of flight one of the boosters came loose and flew away, this put the K1 into an uncontrolable spin and then the second booster ripped of only after destroying the central stack. This left the USSK crippled in debt and only enough funds to try once more.

The USK

The USK Space Administration decide to start off there space program with a sounding rocket.

The general public at first found this exciting but after a few seconds left out of boredom.

And when the booster was nearly finished the Clamps broke and released the SRB, luckily it landed a few metres away.
