Since I haven't used the steampunk mod yet, the most impressive thing here is that you did it without a grabber. +Rep! I'm sure if I did it the entire spacecraft would tumble out of control causing the universe to implode in a fiery death. Them Krakens, man, they'll take anything as bait!

I would have used the lander struts as the claw, but that works too I guess.

Yes. That is how you would do it. I would have used the structual parts to act as claws since they can take a lot of abuse.

I accelerated at it at 200 m/s, and my ship got stuck inside it until I time warped.
