How do the B9 aerospace cargo bays work?

I see people with stuff in them like science, but when I do it I just get this.

I don't think I've ever used that particular cargo bay but you should be able to hold alt (to disable surface attachment) and attach to the part ahead or behind it. I'm not sure you can attach to the outside wall of the bay.

I looked through my screenshots for one but the best I could find was a stock cargo bay. It's the same principle though, look how I have this attached at the front (you actually don't need the extra docking port, a docking port will detach from anything, it just won't re-attach back without a docking port.)

This B9 one was done the same way, but the picture isn't as good for this purpose. It was done without the extra docking port, the port on the station was affixed directly to the large battery you barely see in the back and then strutted.

This shouldn't really be in the suport section cause its not a bug maybe you would have been better off posting in the B9 Thread.

Another way is to put a cubic strut down then attach to that. but remember normal struts.

Be aware holding ALT only works when you have 2 nodes.
