Base construction, tips/suggestions needed

Recommended Posts

I'm building a mun base and I need some suggestions. Heres how base prototype looks like:

Garage for rovers and hangar will we added later. But that's not important. I have successfully landed and constructed some bases before. Just... this one has some unusual shape + some of parts are way above the ground (bridge). So my questions are:

1) Into which pieces would you split this base for transportation?

2) How would you put those pieces together? (especially the bridge)

hyperedit is kinda cheating. Think of it as as a challenge.

In that case why break it up at all? Assuming you are using stock aerodynamics you could attack rockets to the bottom portion of your base, you could also place engines along the bottom of your bridge for descent. Again, I would try and lift it all as a single piece, and not break it up at all.

I will keep in mind the possibility to launch it as a single piece. The thing that worries me about this approach is that the center of mass isn't at the center. Some really precise calculations and testing should be made to balance the trust.

Oh and the whole thing at the moment weights 36 tons. I have lifted similar mass to the orbit before. So mass isn't the problem here.
