Sci Fi dropship challenge!

The challenge is to make a more conventional aircraft/shuttle/dropship style spacecraft that\'s capable for entering the atmosphere from orbit, and landing either on a run way, or VTOL. (That means it must be capable of both)

I still haven\'t got a reliable VTOL design yet, nevermind getting the same thing up into orbit.

The word you are looking for is \'and\' not \'or\'.. Or means one or the other, and means both.

yeah but I wasn\'t expecting you to landing it on the runway, then take off to VTOL land. Just a ship that\'s capable of it.

and would refer to the ships ability to land VOTL and the ships ability to land on the runway. I can see where the confusion comes in. But if you were to say 'or' that would imply making a ship that can only lands VOTL. [or] making a ship that can only land on the runway. Honestly I think either word would work, as they both get the point across.

In the hope of not getting too off topic, what does VOTL stand for?

It\'s not VOTL, it\'s VTOL. It stands for Vertical Take-Off and Landing.

I thought a dropship was something that dropped other ships onto the surface of a planet?

This would also be cool, a ship that can re-enter orbit, drop some stuff, and then get back into orbit.

Yea, get into orbit, grab payload from orbital mothership, deliver payload on ground, get back into orbit and rendezvous with mothership.

now what xzbobzx said would be an interesting challenge.

Ie, launch from mothership, land (airstrip or VTOL as thread says) and then rendezvous with the mothership after picking the cargo, a bit of kerbalade or something

\'course this isn\'t really viable at the moment because of no docking, but something to try and plan for i think.
