KSP freezing

In stock KSP the game will freeze and become unresponsive this will often happen at the main menu, but will sometimes allow me to open a scenario and will then freeze after a short amount of time. I have deleted and reinstalled my game, verified the integrity of the game cache multiple times through steam, moved KSP to my documents, made sure my antivirus is off and tried running it as an administrator. I am running 64 bit Windows 8.1 and 32 bit KSP version 0.90.0.705.

I'm willing to try any suggestions that anyone might have.

Sounds like you moved it to a more problematic place, rather than a less problematic place... Might be better to try copying it to C:\KSP (or something along those lines). You will need to copy it, however, as Windows tracks the permissions of files when they're moved around.

Should that not fix the issue, I'd recommend removing the files in the GameData folder completely and then attempting to verify the game cache through Steam; sometimes excess files get in there one way or another, which Steam won't detect all the time.

I moved the KSP folder to c:\KSP and the game still froze. I deleted the gamedata folder, verified the game cache, and redownloaded the files, which still did not solve the freezing issue. Guess I won't be trying RSS today.

Are you sure that this is an unmodded install? You seem to have the bug fix modules installed.

Sorry about that, I installed the stock bug fix mod incase is might stop the freezing, but I removed it before I tried Vexx32's suggestions. I see nothing unusual in your recently uploaded log. It just stops, which is unfortunate...

So, make sure you use the Copy/Paste function (not "Move" or Cut/Paste) or windows will still try to mess with you. Also, try the standard stuff like checking to make sure KSP is on your Antivirus approved list. If you can, also try to check your processor and graphics card temps. That can cause KSP to lock up as well, although overheat usually causes more computer problems than just locking up KSP.

If KSP was working before, you can also check and see if your system updated itself recently. Sometimes video drivers (NVIDIA updates) that auto update can screw up KSP/Unity.

For some unknown reason, KSP seems to working fine now and in the last hour and a half of playing I have not had it freeze once. Thanks Claw and Vexx32 for your help.
