EAS-1 Chair, how does the weight change?

Hi gang!

I was just looking at the code for the EAS-1 chair, trying to find the trigger that caused it to change weight (I'm planning to make a module that changes other pods mass depending on kerbal occupancy), but the only thing I can see thats unusual in the pod is "Module = KerbalSeat".

Is this what triggers this? Has anyone else played with the concept?
