'Unavailable Experimental Parts' message

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have this message when I click on launch after a reverted flight or a loaded ship. What can I do?

Thnx

This happens when you load a ship that was built with tech you do not have (either due to tech tree not being unlocked or mod part no longer present).

Probably you have designed a craft to complete a Contract like "Test xxxxx component while in flight around Kerbal" and you have tried to use the same craft after completing the contract but you haven't researched the component yet. (Unresearched components are only available while you have the contract)

Well, you should still be able to go to the VAB, load the ship, then hit the launch button inside the VAB. And next time, revert to the VAB, not to launch.

Ships with experimental parts can't be launched directly from the launchpad but they can be loaded and launched from within the VAB. This is so if you do the part test by sticking the experimental part on the side of your standard rocket, you can go back later and remove the experimental part and keep using your standard rocket. But the launchpad itself just tries to stop you from launching with parts you haven't researched yet.
