"Curse" - same old problem: craft files in the mod section

Does Curse not allow tagging an upload as a ship, does it not filter by those tags, or do uploaders not tag properly - and if it's the latter why does Curse condone incorrect tagging?

I assume there is no need to explain why it is inconvenient to have those two rather different types of downloads mixed.

I think i found the problem.

Curse does allow tagging an upload as a ship, it looks like people do use tags correctly, and Curse does have separate sections for mods and ships (shareables) - but the Curse search function is global (to KSP) and does not make a distinction between the mods and shareables sections.

A search in the mods section returns results from the ships/shareables section (and presumably vice versa). It looks like Curse has no section-specific search function.

I think that partially defeats the purpose of a search function: either search and get many irrelevant results, or manually search (browse) the section that might contain the content you are looking for. Both take much more time than need be, which in this case made me stop searching.

Curse is in many ways better than the previous mod website, but this particular problem is similar to the major inconvenience for which Spaceport was derided.

The search function is scheduled for an overhaul. It has some odd quirks that don't work for every game. The other issue we sometimes have that we need to resolve is a few authors change their tags after approval, and currently we don't see that change till they upload a new file to the project.
