VA 'Condor' long range passenger/cargo aircraft

Recommended Posts

A video there showing off its capability and the new Passenger Cabin and Freight Bay parts, based on Mk3 C7 hulls.

If you want to know what happened at the end of that nose dive...

Surprisingly, it survived. Screenshot taken immediately after I pulled up. It was a close thing though.

A few questions:

Top Speed bellow 1000m?

What do the engines on the back serve to gain?

(I have build aircraft twice the size of that one with 10 more thrust of that one. I tend to go for range on airliners than speed, with my airliners going for 110/150 then 200m/s under 1000m)

Why don\'t you angle the the landing gear to the rear so that take offs are possible?

Yes, top speed is around 150 m/s.

Primary propulsion, directional control thrust.

It can take off without extra sections of landing gear. With them, it wouldn\'t look level when its on the ground. If it isn\'t level, how do you expect the Kerbals to cross to the airport terminal gantry?

I should also mention that Passenger Cabins and Freight Bays do not contain fuel.

Its a large aircraft, with not a lot of fuel to be spent on powerful engines.

The aircraft could not take off without them. They are actually the primary propulsion. Also, you seem to be contradicting yourself by asking why it has more engines after having asked why it isn\'t fast.

Ok

I have once again built aircraft with 10 more thrust than it that fly longer, but slower. Different in preferance. I wasn\'t contredicting my self, as I was wondering how fast it was under 1000m, not why it wasn\'t faster.

Cool, and I have designed aircraft for too long with the angling of the gear.

I realised what you meant and edited my post before you replied.
