I have just randomly come across a youtube video of this whilst looking for something else,

and i have to say i havent even downloaded it yet and am already hooked, how awsome is

it to build/design and fly it from launch to landing on another planet! sucks i am at work till this evening...anyways am i right in thinking that this is still in alpha/beta stage? but the public is still able to download and play?

Welcome to the KSP Forums!

Yes, KSP is still in alpha phase, features are still being added. You can download the free demo, which is effectively an outdated version of the game. Or you can buy the current version along with future updates for... err, what is it, 15 bucks now?
