Simple Spaceplan Atmospheric Flight Assisstant

Hi!

Is there a simple assistant/autopilot for space planes?

I only need a button for "Maintain Altitude/Speed/Heading".

I love doing those Survey missions on Kerbin, and am flying with my MK2 spaceplane at the edge of stalling (30km, 1200m/s). 2 km higher and the thrusters die, but I do not want to constantly correct the angle of the plane. And the stock "Stabilizer Assistant" must be some kind of saboteur. It does everything but stabilize the plane at this height/speed.

I guess this is not doable in stock?

I am playing completely stock, and this is the only thing that drives me crazy.

And I want only this as a mod, because I am one of those people who push the "cheat" button, if there is a "cheat" button...

And I wanted to keep it as vanilla as possible...

Any hints for me?

Are you asking for an altitude hold autopilot?

Mechjeb has a pretty good spaceplane autopilot capable of holding altitude if that's what you're asking for. If you don't want the rest of Mechjeb, just disable the other modules in the config file and they won't even be loaded.

You could also install kOS and script your own altitude hold too.

Pilot Assistant does what you want - the author has been very forthright about it only wanting to help you fly with a keyboard and not actually do the flying. Has alt/heading/climb holds and a new SAS, that's it.
