I can't seem to save / load spacecraft anymore

Any time I hit the load button in the hanger nothing happens. Some of my previous designs are available on the launchpad, but I can't load up a thing in the hanger. Any ideas?

Had this happen once. My research led me to the assumption that it is a corrupt craft file. Remove recent craft files until normal operation resumes. This worked for me.

Hopefully you didn't lose any important ships. It may be possible to manually recover, but I never went that far.

This happened to me a while back, and basically the cause was a craft that got saved with no parts. Go into your KSP folder and go to Saves -> the current save game you were working on -> Ships and then look in the VAB and SPH folders for .craft files that are only 1kb in size and delete them. That should fix it.

I had this issue once as well and I have a solution:

Check in the save folder you're currently working with that in the "ships" folder, both the VAB and SPH folders are present. If not, create the missing folder(s) and you should be good to go . If they are both there then do as ajburges and Regolith say and delete any .craft files that are only 1kb.

Fortunately the missing folder thing happened to me on a new save so no files lost. I find that using undo and save on crafts with 1 or 0 parts can cause these issues and the best way to remedy is regular backups of all your save files.

Seconded - my laptop ran out of battery while I was editing a craft, I found a zero-byte .craft file. Deleted it, and I'm golden! Thanks
