Longer landing gear "glitch"?

Recommended Posts

Well, I'm a little stumped how I did this or if it's already known.

Today I was working on a tanker-plane and it was in need of an extra pair of Small Gear Bay's.

I rotated the whole plane, from the cockpit, on it's "back".

First I placed the front Small Hardpoints and on top of them the Small Gear Bay's.

Then I planted the rear Small Hardpoints and on top of these also the Small Gear Bay's. However, I wanted these rotated. So I did that using the keyboard buttons.

I always seem to turn my objects in the other 2 wrong axis first before I use the right one!

So when I finally had them oriented how I wanted them, I ended up with the rear Small Gear Bay's being longer than the front ones!

See for yourself:

Like I said, I can't seem to replicate this, but I don't think this is normal behaviour.

Is it?

Ater your request I ran some more tests, but I think I know what happened.

If I grab a "fresh" Small Gear Bay from the part-menu it's longer than the Small Gear Bay's that are already present on the currently saved craft.

When the craft is Launched or Saved & Loaded, all Small Gear Bay's are short again.

Too bad... there goes my plan to use the longer ones for nosewheels!

Thanks for the input though!
