Can't load saved game

Before you post anything here, I did look at other people's posts about this same issue, but no one had the cause be from what I did.

Anyhow, I can't load my save game. A few minutes ago, I was trying to revive some kerbals in the persistence file, semi-knowing what I was doing :P.

I got a little carried away and changed the names of some kerbals (C'mon, you can't resist Kawaii Kerman sending your new rocket into space).

And when I tried resuming my safe, it wouldn't open the thing with saves in it.

I dunno if I corrupted it somehow or not, because I know corruption usually causes the inability to resume saves.

And the reason I'm not just deleting the persistence and carrying the saved crafts to another save is because I have my first Mun and Minmus landings, and some other stupid but neat flags.

Any help is appreciated.

I just made a backup after I messed with the persistence because I didn't think it would corrupt. Oops. There weren't any old ones looming in the recycle bin, either.

Maybe I can find the flags in the file and copy them over into another persistence of another save? Choices, choices.
