Loading Craft Files & Saves

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Just started installing some craft files into the correct directory. The craft files will not work with any existing saves (and in fact, there are NO crafts available to load on a save file), but works fine with a new start. Is this normal or did I install incorrectly? Thanks.

Where did you install them? If you put them into the main Ships folder, they'll be treated as Stock crafts, and will only be available in save games where that difficulty option is enabled, or in Sandbox saves. Otherwise, you'll need to put them into the Saves\[sAVENAME]\Ships\ folder, in either the VAB or SPH subfolders.

If you mean you can't see any mention of the ships in certain save files, it may be because there're two places you can put craft files in the main directory:

saves/(your save name)/Ships/VAB or SPH (the ship is specific to that save)

Ships/VAB or SPH (the ships will appear in any save where "Allow Stock Ships" is enabled in difficulty options. You can enable it by pressing Esc in the space centre view, clicking settings, then difficulty.

EDIT: Vexx beat me to it.

This +1. Thanks. I saved them right into Kerbal Space Program>Ships>VAB but did not have :allow stock ships" checked. Thanks for the help guys!
