Can you help me get started in YouTube?

I already have a YouTube account, Misterspork, but I need:

A. A good, preferably free, recording software(Not CamStudio...)

B. A good, preferably free, editing software

C. Some YouTube tips

D. Some lag reduction tips(My computer sucks...)

Can anyone show me where I can find any of these?

'Lag' as I call it is in-game computational lag, and I know there are tricks to reduce this, but I want to know the best ones you guys know of.

B.) I\'m using VideoPad Video Editor

They have served me well so far.

A. FRAPS.

B. Vegas is excellent, but you haven\'t specified what you want to edit, so it might as well be Audacity or 3ds max.

C. Never ask for subs.

D. Reduce the recording framerate in FRAPS, it causes considerably less lag on your computer.

A. FRAPS is a standard, but costs $30 if you want to record longer than 30 seconds or without a watermark. I remember hearing about MSI Afterburner from White Owl, and I couldn\'t notice much difference in quality between video recorded in the two.

B. I\'ve used VirtualDub to encode video before, but it\'s very basic and may not be what you\'re looking for.

C. Be original - don\'t copy someone else just because they\'re successful.

D. Cap your framerate while recording to 30, as Youtube re-encodes your videos and caps them at that rate anyway. It\'ll reduce the likelihood of graphical lag spikes and makes the files smaller (take less room on your hard drive and less time to upload).

No don\'t do that. But if you want to be a legitimately good youtuber you should -

NEVER ask for subscribers. It gives you a good reputation.

Make your videos interesting. Even if it\'s just you minecrafting, talk over it. People like to hear voices

Be Smart. Good artists steal from the right people.

Don\'t use overused music. I will personally stab you.

If you don\'t like your video, post it anyways. Opinions differ.

A. Well, I asked the winter owl about this along time ago, and he sugested to me MSI Afterburner. Its a great video recorder for free (well, its better than fraps, specially with resources). The only problem with it is that it doesn\'t record audio, but that can be done by another program if needed.

B. Windows Movie Maker if you on windows, anything else I cannot point you to, as I haven\'t tryed it myself.

C. Well, if you doing lets plays, be different, be patient, and have fun. If just doing non frequent videos, then have fun is the only thing needed to be said.

D. Um, well, if the game is lagging without a video recorder working, well, your out of luck, as there is no way that its going to run well with the recorder in the background. If not, but running other things in the background is a little too much, then go for something like MSI or BandiCam (though I can\'t recomend BandiCam, because I haven\'t used it, but aparently its good).

D. I recommend IObit Game Booster 3 to stop lag.(I think this is windows only...)

Windows Movie Maker works, but if you have access to something like Premier Pro or Vegas, I would definitely use it.
