[Tweak needed] Waterlandings

Water-landing physics seems to need a tweak or two.

I can see some effects, but seriously having a pod bounce 150 meters into the air?

This is the exact situation, I was coming down at 11m/s, I gave my pod 5/ms of thrust, the science Jr. broke off anyway.

The pod comes screaming out of the water (I killed the throttle on splash down, gear was up). Fly's up to 150 feet and comes down in a poof.

I have seen this so many times will smaller parts, not mentioning it before, where they hop on the water loosing only a small fraction of their speed on water impact,

you can wait a couple of minutes before the hopping finally stops.

Stock water physics could use a quick pass even to make it easier to splash down or ditch.

Because of how the mod is licensed, Squad could theoretically copy-paste the code into the game legally as long as they bundled a copy of the MIT license with the game's EULA.

Now, that wont happen because Squad has something called morals that places like EA don't. Usually they'll work with the mod author because code needs to be modified and retooled, etc. This also means that the modder probably has to give Squad permission to do so even though the licensing already does.

Have to? That depends on whether they want to be polite and respectful. Oh, and the mod authors' licenses, too.

Do they? The usual solution is to hire the mod authors.

Last I checked, Porkjet and Roverdude were not on Squad payroll, just collaborating. Has that changed? I'd certainly be happy for them if it did.
