There was Michael Collins with a bit part in "Youth in Revolt", selling a caravan (trailer) and a dog.

I was so excited I would have fallen off my chair, if I wasn't already slumped with my feet up on the coffee table.

Michael has been my favourite astronaut since I was a child.

I always thought that it was unfair that the other guys left him behind while they got to have all the fun on the moon.

Then I grew up and learned some things about logistics and stuff.

His book is well worth a read

I agree, he's a very classy guy. Understated and humble. His book is easily the best astronaut autobiography/biography out there. He's also extremely likeable in the documentary "In the Shadow of the Moon". I am not that surprised to see him in films. IIRC, his daughter is an actress.

Its been a while since I read the book, IIRC he was offered a place, but decided that his family was more important.
