KSP crashes on startup

I apologize in advance if this is a really easy/obvious fix. I'm totally new to this.

I just received this game as a gift via Steam and installed it last weekend. When I click the "Play" icon, I instantly get the following error message -- the game doesn't launch at all.

What is your graphics card? I cannot figure it out from your output logs. Does it pass the minimum required spec to run the game? (512MB Video Card, Shader Model 3.0)

Hi guys, thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay. I checked out my video card settings and it looks like my computer isn't even accessing my new card, so it looks like I have bigger problems unrelated to KSP. I'll try to get those resolved and then retry the program. Thanks!
