This Day in Spaceflight History

Recommended Posts

I well remember the excitement that this mission caused at the time.  There are SOME advantages to being this old!  Apollo 8 seemed to demonstrate our apparent  ability  to build a spacecraft and fly it to wherever we pleased.  Long-gone,  happy,  innocent,  deluded days.

The Apollo 10 LM did its landing "dress rehearsal" low pass 50 years ago today. "Snoopy" undocked from "Charlie Brown" in about 45 minutes, a half century ago, as of this writing.

The LM's rapid roll anomaly happened about 4.5 hours later at about 23:33 UTC.
