ModuleActiveRadiator getting useful info

Recommended Posts

So, tinkering with ModuleActiveRadiator, I'm looking to get a 'relative' number that I can use.  I'd like to be able to compare it's effectiveness based on how much heat it's dissipating.  The purpose is to play an animation and base the speed on that.  I've tried every temperature variable I can find and none of those change.  I've had it connected to the same part as a drill.  The radiator works, it keeps the drills at temperature. But I can't seem to find anything that tells me how well.

Ok, nevermind. I found a useful number, the part's Rad Flux.  It basically tells how much energy is being radiated off the part.  If you have ModuleActiveRadiator on the part, once you activate it, that part becomes like a heat sponge and the rad flux will drastically increase based on how much heat it's getting rid of.  It's a negative number but, this is a pretty good indication of just how much work the radiator is performing.  If you deactivate it, the rad flux goes closer to 0.

Just in case anyone else needs this info.
