  1. I use the arm to execute a terrifying, traumatic pun revolving around someone "needing a hand." To the next user I give a live trout.
  2. I love a̶b̶u̶s̶i̶n̶g̶ using 0.625 m parts to create efficient, compact lander craft. In Round8 I trust.
  3. IIRC No Man's Sky is also getting a PC port.
  4. Alright alright alright! I've mostly got the KSO functional with RPM v0.22.2. Most everything is up to the new RPM config specifications and functional. Just a few more bugs to squash, then I need to do a pass and make sure everything behaves like it did before. Shouldn't be too long, I expect to be fully finished sometime tomorrow...
  5. +1 (-50) Let's kill this vertical velocity, the lander legs won't take it...
  6. Thanks for the help. I've never done anything quite like this, so I'm a little out of my depth. The documentation has been a godsend so far, but without knowing exactly what I'm doing I've made more than a few mistakes.
  7. I'm trying to set up vertical bars in a HUD and not having much success... I've been reading the documentation, but I still have a question about configuring a vertical bar... I'm wondering where, exactly, the vertical bar node goes... I've got a HUD set up, and the nesting I've been trying goes something like this... {PAGE{BACKGROUNDHANDLER... Hud config goes here... JSIHUD_VERTICAL_BAR{vBar config}}} And it doesn't work... I've tried many other configurations, with the vBar config ahead of the Hud config, after... And none of them work. I'm probably messing up somewhere else, this is my first time doing anything like this, but I want to cross the node being in the wrong place off my list.
  8. It would be interesting to see if you can reproduce this with other ships. Be warned, the power of the kraken is beyond any mortal's control. You're toying with powerful forces here.
  9. I can see the Mk1 cab being quite useful for space station escape pods...
  10. So my odyssey of RPM not working continues... I've figured out why it doesn't work, though. RPM changed significantly at v 0.20.0, and I don't think the KSO configuration followed suit. Should be a simple fix. Only problem is the KSO has a lot of .cfgs for RPM that I find redundant... Not gonna mess with that. Might be a while, but if I get a fix for these .cfgs I'll post them here for anyone else having the same issues. UPDATE ON THAT: I've got the KSO mostly working with RPM... Mostly. Some things have been added to RPM that the KSO never had to support, so I'm setting those up from scratch. Only the ADI left to go, everything else seems to be working fine.
  11. Well, I suppose apathy is better than active distrust...
  12. Late reply, but I always find the real life scale of aerospace tech compared to KSP somewhat awe inspiring. I mean, I've built a Saturn V lookalike with the 3.75 m parts in KSP... And then I find out the whole of the thing could comfortably fit inside the space shuttle External Fuel Tank. It gives a real sense of perspective of the insane engineering feats we perform to send things into space.
  13. (PB666 has commented since I started writing this, but I still want to discuss this.) I tend to agree with that statement, but I'm obviously biased because I love space and everything to do with it. So I'm going to play devil's advocate for these conservative people. For most, I'd wager, it isn't about luddite-ism... It's honestly just fiscal conservativism. They don't like spending money on unsure things. And as Kerbal has taught most, if not all of us, space travel is rarely a certain thing. Is this perspective short sighted? Perhaps. But a lot can happen in a short time, and they don't want a lot of money to be tied up in space exploration when it does. While this viewpoint is obviously detrimental to space exploration, I can understand why, at least, they'd have such an un-Jebediah viewpoint. Fortunately for us, the private sector seems to be stepping up. We've got companies like SpaceX and Virgin trying to do things in space, cool things. This is important, because ideally, eventually, if the government is conservative with its dollars in space, we don't need them for cool things to happen. And that, is why I, personally, feel this scam is devastating. It might make people think non-governmental space exploration is a scam, when we're on the cusp of it becoming a serious thing. And that makes me sad.
  14. I kinda figured that's why it is how it is, but it still bugs me. I don't know what could be done about it, though, I'm not savvy enough to figure out what constraints are involved.
  15. Here's my peeve: Subassemblies act weird. I'd like it if they let me use any available node on the subassembly, but a lot of the time it picks one node and refuses any other attachment. That one node is usually opposite the one I actually want to attach.
  16. It's crepuscular! In all seriousness I love this new engine. I've always desired sort of a midground between the Wheezly and the Whiplash... You can't just bolt SR-71 engines on an F-16, after all. [CITATION NEEDED]
  17. Luck is a skill in of itself... Or so New Vegas has led me to believe.
  18. I'm positive that you'll all find my addition to this project to be a big plus... (-46)
  19. I definitely doubt the KSO is going to die. Just that Helldiver seems to be otherwise occupied with something that's probably going to be awesome. Plus, this is probably all a delaying tactic anyway. I expect most everything will break with Unity 5 in 1.1, and everything will again have to be rejiggered. Oh well... Such is life.
  20. You must learn the ways of the Navball, and to trust your feelings. Only then will the path of the Kerbonaut be fully revealed to you.
  21. My first thought was to take it semi seriously, though my reaction was still thinking that they hadn't a snowball's chance on Moho of pulling it off. Then I read more and found out it was a scam. Shame really, preying on people's enthusiasm for space exploration for financial gain with nothing in return...
