Mostly finished construction of my new LKO space station... Coming along nicely. Could actually be finished, but that leaves a docking port on top with no plans for it...

[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Turk, everything should work nominally from that pack in 1.0.4. You can update the various other plugins to their newest versions. (Firespitter, RPM, etc.) Speaking of update, the latest version of Raster Prop Monitor FINALLY decided to work with my KSO. Except the {SIP_6.3} stuff, which is oddly persistent across multiple instances of RPM. Since RPM displays speeds just fine in other capsules, and indeed even other windows of the KSO MFD, I assume something is borked with my KSO install as opposed to RPM. Only problem is I still have no idea what... UPDATE AGAIN: Turns out CKAN was installing RPM 20 as opposed to 22... Yay. Latest version of RPM is still hella borked with the KSO it would seem. AGAIN WITH THE INTERMINABLE UPDATES: Okay I fixed the {SIP_6.3 stuff}... misplaced $ sign in infoTakeoff.cfg... At this point I'm probably just rambling to nobody, but if anybody else has the same problem, in that .txt, $&SURFSPEED $ORBTSPEED should be $&$SURFSPEED ORBTSPEED. -

Plane parts: Do you use them and what for?
Luna-Industries replied to Bloody_looser's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm a rocketmaaaaaan. In all seriousness I absolutely suck at building SSTOs or spaceplanes of any kind. -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I just noticed this on IVA... For some reason this seems to be happening on both the KSO and Super 25... I suspected a Firespitter error but I've reinstalled FS and the KSO multiple times, and it hasn't fixed it. (EDIT: Meant RPM, not FS. FS is fine.) Any idea what's causing it that I can fix? UPDATE: I've been testing with previous RPM versions. The bundled one with the 4.20 KSO solves the PFD and ADI issues, but not the SIP_6.3 stuff. Weird. UPDATE 2: After much experimenting with previous RPM versions, I've learned this. RPM versions prior to V 4.13 do that "random texture thing" and don't work. The RPM version bundled with 4.13 doesn't do that, but doesn't do much of anything either. -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I've had good results with the handling, though. Much improved over using the 0.90 version in 1.0.4. Only issue is the aforementioned squirrelyness with roll, but I find that's only at lower atmospheric pressure and higher speeds. Once you're below about 250 m/s and 30 000 km it handles fine. The "skipping" in higher atmosphere is a bit of an issue though, but not insurmountable. I've had good results with setting my re-entry point to be slightly behind the KSC mountains from a 75x75 km-ish orbit. The "skip" carries you over the mountain and leaves you with most of your speed bled off on approach to KSC. S-turns from there. Granted, this is only with the Super 25... The payloads I've been hauling preclude use of the standard KSO. -
I've thought about this before. Perhaps instead of trying to encrypt the save game, just disable reverting to launch and quickloading on launch of a new craft. Might be more feasible. Whenever I imagine such a thing, though, it has a "simulate" option. This mode allows revert to launch, quickloads, etc, only the second you go to the space centre or attempt to recover the vessel, it reverts to vehicle assembly. The latter portion might be more "tin man" and unfeasible, but I've always thought it sounded cool.

[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
From the most recent install that was recently uploaded. The non-plugins one. Installed RPM and RPM Core through CKAN. Says they're up to date. Interestingly enough, on relaunch of the game the ADI came back but the TOF assist is still borked. I'm wondering if it isn't a mod conflict. Which seems strange because my mods are generally quite benign... Hmmm. May have to experiment. -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I'm having an interesting issue. The ADI has gone completely white, and the Takeoff Assistant is displaying {1:SIP_6.3} instead of any speeds. Any idea what's going on? -
How would you describe the way you play KSP?
Luna-Industries replied to DuoDex's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Failure is not an option. -

I haven't been using it and doing fine, so make of that what you will. I have a question of my own to anyone who can help. How do you fly the EWBCL? With the new aero I keep lawn-darting on landing. EDIT: I did some EXPERIMENTS and the Super 25 flies great WITHOUT fuel, contrary to the manual which dates back to soupy aero. -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yeah, sorry if I gave that impression! KSO works beautifully and takes up much less space than it used to. Absolutely brilliant. -

I'm thinking I will do that Avalon. Just a PSA from five minutes ago experience. Heating memory leak attacks the EWBCL with ferocity. Hit F10 like there's no tomorrow! -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Mod works really well now. Couldn't use it for a while due to it breaking other things or vice-versa, but it works great now. Plays well with aerodynamics. Only problem is when using RCS to translate laterally I end up in a roll. This is, of course, expected. I am wondering how you expert Kerbonauts compensate for this. I'm considering slapping another SAS module on, but I'm wondering if there exists a more... Elegant solution. -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So I have this weird issue... In 64 bit KSP, attempting to place or use the Kerbostar piece instantly causes the game to crash. Anyone else getting this? -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So I've been trying some things to get around the Curse of the 300m/s. Is it possible to use the 40T engines with the EFT still attached, and if so, what sort of pitch would that require? -
Yes, if you copy the game folder out of Steamapps it should run. I have ran it directly from the .exe of the Steam version, bypassing Steam's DRM entirely. It was a fun 6 hour flight.

I hear ya, man! An ion lander mission around Minmus was scheduled to be scrubbed due to electricity issues but the new update made it possible again!
-
So I got the update, liking it so far. These parts will certainly be useful at reducing part count and making heavy lift easier. That said, I have a few requests... 1.) Regular radial decouplers work, but I feel larger ones might help a bit considering the power and weight of some of these boosters. 2.) I would very much like a smaller Rockomax-Kerbodyne adapter but it's not too inconvenient given the mass of the existing one 3.) A larger SAS module.

ARM Pack [0.23.5] Mod Compatibility Thread
Luna-Industries replied to DMagic's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Kerbal Engineer Redux is definitely not working properly. It refuses to recognize ARM boosters radially, and recently has refused to show indeed any ARM stages. -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I've been alternating between using the auxiliary fuel module alone, and said module, the standard docking adapter, and one port. It doesn't seem to make much of a difference either way. -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I have it set to not drain from the VAB. All "losses" from it are actually from the main tank to prevent feeding at improper times. I transfer fuel from the aux module to it. Still, it chews through my fuel once I'm up there. -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So I just attempted a rendezvous with the station using ideas suggested to me by SaSquatch. It did not go well. I ran about 300 m/s short of dV. It seems that 300 m/s lost by equipping the Aux. Fuel module is quite pervasive, even with the more efficient 40Ts being used for burns. It seems that, for the time being, my station plans are on hold until I can find some way of getting a loaded shuttle into orbit using the EFT and SRBs alone. Anyone have any suggestions? -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
It is an existing station. I wouldn't dream of dragging the modules up that high. I'm planning on building a KSO part station at 150 km, but for now poor range seems to have canned that idea. -
[0.90] Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System v4.13
Luna-Industries replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I'm going to use it to rendezvous with my station, up at 250x250 km. So I'd like to be able to have that auxiliary fuel for the rendezvous, orbital operations, and landing. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be working quite well. However... SaSquatch, that's even heavier than what I'm trying to get into orbit. I'll give it a shot and see if it works!
