yes, that was a typo. the fact that you can make a capitol ship with so little parts is not very surprising. it all depends on the size, complexity, armor, and definition of a capitol ship. lately i have been using a ton of armor on my ships, and this has yielded great success. in all the tests i have preformed i have found armor to be the best way to defend a ship. as for that small fighter... it was a very rushed design. i do not plan on making it a "important" part of my up to date fleet.

in the way my fleet is set up now that part count is fine. my computer can handle above 1400 o.k. it starts to tap out at 1500 parts. so five vs. one battle would be fine with only 1000 parts. - - - Updated - - - EXAMPLE: numbers are estaminets. a 300 part carrier carries 1 of these 100 part fighters, 2 50 part small fighters, and 2 more 100 part large fighters. that is 700 parts. + a 300 part cruiser parked near by = 1100 parts

that is the most amazing carrier i have ever seen. it reminds me of my old experimental carrier days, when i would use large spaceplane parts for the body of the craft. the only problem with this is that it is not well armored... i have since moved on to my innovative multi carrier designs: they are much more battle stations than carriers.

i tried loading the save file, but it says i need to update ksp. i must have forgotten to. i'll update and battle latter. you can just do this battle.

sounds like a good idea. i would start now but i have to go somewhere four 3 hours. when i come back i'll set up my ship. also, do any of you have a screen recorder? i could edit all the turns together and it would make for a good youtube video.

The carrier is designed to contain a full fleet. its fuel tank externals are very much expendable, but it's hangar and internals are very well protected by a sort of new armor type, the structural panels laying over spaceplane fuel tanks creates a sort of strengthened armor; like on large battleships, boats, and tanks, but with less parts. The trapezoidal shape also is for a reason: slanted armor. As for that other battle. i do believe you opponent called it a draw after his move saying: he was "unable to win". but i could be wrong.
