  1. You're completely right, KSPs RAM usage is theoretically fine. The mystery is that more than 2GB disappear upon startup. (not being used as cache or for KSP.). The same amount is returned immediately after closing KSP and I have not the slightest of an idea what it is being used for. According to my system I start out with pretty much 6GB (a tiny bit more) of free Ram before launching KSP. (with the script from OP) I have a total of 8GB installed.
  2. Sorry it took me so long. The Firespitter mod is far outdated,it came packaged with two 0.25 mods claiming that it works though.
  3. Try to right-click the script and click "Open with...", then type "bash" into the space for the program name and check "Open in terminal" and "Keep terminal open". Post whatever you get as a result in the terminal as a reply. (This is on a KDE interface, but it should be similar for everything else.)
  4. Hey there, I'm using the latest SUSE and would like modded, I have been experiencing a strange phenomenon though. When launching with about 20 mods (two of them part packs) the process manager shows KSP using 1,3GB of RAM. On the memory manager I can see it taking more than 3GB throughout startup and staying there. (dropping me into swap if I try to install more.) 4GB are free on my system for use. I'm running the standalone 64-bit linux version. Active texture management is installed. Thanks in advance for any help, Nicro
  5. @technicalfool Thanks for the quick answer. I'll be careful with modded stuff
  6. Ok, I've read some posts and I think I understand it now. Still there are two questions regarding mods: Do I need to import a save from the client to get Kathane and Kerbonite to spawn? How can the server keep ticking things like TAC life support when nobody is online? It's still a miracle to me how the server can run without any mod files. Thanks in advance for any answers, Nicro
  7. I'm currently setting up a server and a friend told me that in order to play with mods, only a configured Modcontrol.cfg would be required. I was wondering how this could be possible with worldgen (Kathane/Kerbonite) and ticking modded elements in general. Do I need to provide the files of all installed mods to the server and if yes, how would I go about doing so? Thanks in advance, Nicro
  8. I'm also running this on Linux, its a bit weird but the way to go is: right-click on the EXE file -> open with... -> mono (while "open in terminal is checked) Hope thats clear enough ^^
