1. I had contract to further expand and build-up KSS station around Kerbin. Added another research lab and hitchhiker storage container. Now station has ability to house up to 16 Kerbals. It is starting to look like Mir. 2. I had a contract to plant flags on Minmus and the Mun, so I decided to send missions to both places. Did a lot of "science hopping" around a lot of the biomes on Minmus to get a lot of the GravMax science. After that I sent Valentina to land on the Mun. It was her first time so she got extra experience points. Got a lot of science from both missions and was able to unlock more parts. 3.
That's pretty cool, and nice screenshots, but what does it have to do with Kerbal Alarm Clock? Did you use it to plan your Munar injection burn?
Oops!! I just noticed that I posted in the wrong thread. I wanted to post in the "What did you do in KSP today?" thread. Thanks for letting me know. Post moved.
4. I had a contract to plant flag on the Mun. Already did it before, but contract came afterwards. No problem with the mission. It was the first time using a two-seat lander on the Mun. Nice compact design with at least 350dV after landing and returning to orbit. Was able to get around 550 science so I was able to unlock more parts. 5. Had a contract to land a outpost on Minmus. Created a very simple design and landed with no issues. I plan to return to both Mun and Minmus some more, but once I recruit some new Kerbanauts, I will start my Duna missions. 6. Had a contract to build up my space station. Had to add a module and a cupola so that it could support as many as 12 Kerbals. Nice design and added a hub so that I can continue to expand further. I had to move the orbital adjustment module to the opposite port to clear room for docking second module. In the future I plan to deorbit the OAM when it get low and fuel and I want to try to recover it after reentry. So far, no problems and my station looks great. After completing docking of both modules, I successfully deorbited the orbit insertion stage of the second module. It showed that the future deorbit of the OAM should go well. 7. I had two Minmus contracts that I wanted to complete. Also, since I just unlocked the GravMax detector, I decided to send probes with 12 GravMax detectors to both the Mun and Minmus. Got a lot of science from them and completed two more contracts. I was able to unlocked more tech stuff and almost have everything unlocked. I might send two more of these probes back to the Mun and Minmus and get the rest of the science at high in-space altitudes. After that, I might plan my first trip to Duna in KSP 1.0.5. 8. I had two contracts that I wanted to get out of the way. One was to take crew reports and the other temperature measurements, and each contract had four locations on Kerbin. Luckily, both contracts required altitudes below 15,000 feet so I did not have to worry about building high altitude planes. I have been having problems with building those because I did not have the more powerful engines that worked at high altitudes yet. In total, I completed both contracts after about 3 hours of flying. I also made my first around-the-Kerbin flight and had fuel to spare.
9. Before I send my first probe to Duna, I wanted to get the tourist contract completed. I had to go to Minmus and then orbit the Mun. Successfully completed both and returned safely. Now I need to get a bunch of observations and temperature measurements while flying around Kerbin done. After that, going to Duna. The boosters separating looked like Korolev's Cross when the Russian Soyuz rocket jettisons its boosters and forms a cross pattern. 10. I decided to return to Minmus on more time. Wanted to get tons of science from the Highlands, which was the last biome yet to visit. Along with Valentina, I brought two tourists. I landed the two tourists to satisfy part of the tourist contract, but completely forgot that they cannot do EVAs so I could not get any EVA or surface samples, which would have satisfied another contract. I returned the tourists to orbit and then brought Valentina to get the surface science. Completely successful mission. Probably use the new two seat lander for Mun missions too. 11. The Munar landing program is in full operation. Had first successful Munar landing in KSP 1.0.5. Originally, I was planning a direct ascent approach, but due to weight restrictions for my launch pad, I went with Munar orbit rendezvous with two launches and assembling complete vehicle in Kerbin orbit. Everything went well and combination of good lander design and landing on mostly flat area in Farside Crater helped a lot. I decided to bring back the lander to Kerbin just to see how much Delta-V it would take. That lead to a lot of fireworks on reentry. Crew landed safely. Plans now are to continue both Munar and Minmus landing programs and look to establishing bases and searching for resources. I am also looking into my first mission to Duna. 12. I just completed a contract to put a satellite in a specific orbit of the Mun. I just upgraded my mission control to fully upgraded status so I can have an unlimited number of contracts selected, but I plan to just complete all of my remaining contracts before selecting a lot of new ones and I plan to start my Munar landing program. Thinking of having a 3 manned direct decent design instead of Munar orbit rendezvous. I just need to design a lander with good wide base and low center of gravity. I have a bad history of tipping over a lot on landings on the Mun.
13. After sending station to orbit, I decided to send the first crew. That also satisfied a contract of docking two spacecraft in orbit. Was able to dock without any aids other than chase view. I docked once, but undocked, rotated and redocked to have solar panels on both craft in the same plane.
14. I finally started my space station program. I had a contract that needed to have a space station for 5 kerbals with antenna, docking port and research lab in orbit of Kerbin. Nice simple design with two docking ports and has its own guidance computer for unmanned operation. The orbital insertion stage is still attached to the second docking port and I plan to jettison and deorbit it when it gets low on fuel. Future station boosts will be provided by docked manned or unmanned spacecraft.
15. This is probably my final mission to Minmus before I begin building my space station and starting my Munar landing program. Finally, Bill Kerman got to go on his first mission. Decided to get science from the north pole for maximum science potential. Forgot to check light angles, but had just enough light to go for landing. Nice view above Minmus pole with the Sun, Kerbin and the Mun in the background. Successful landing at the north pole despite the low light conditions.
