Thanks. Now, if you go into Logs/Kopernicus there should be a bunch of logs for individual planets and stars.
Could you send me the logs for Alpha Centauri A, Alpha Centauri B, Proxima Centauri, Teegarden's Star, Barnard's Star, Tau Ceti and TRAPPIST-1?Actually, just send me the log for Alpha Centauri42 minutes ago, Stone Blue said:I just grabbed 0.9 from SpaceDock and its fine.
I extracted the file with no issues, and also had 7Zip test it ... vOvOnly took me ~2 mins to download it, tho...
I would guess the issue is with somewhere along @Bonbo's connection to SD... or *possibly*, SD may possibly have an issue with timeouts for peeps on slow/sketchy connections and trying to download *large* files... vOv ..
As to what happened if the dropbox download was installed... idk ... vOv
just sayin it definatley doesnt seem to be an issue with the file on SD. (unless you missed something during the release packaging, Andrew ) I didnt actually install and run the mod.I think the issues @Bonbo and @Sky! (Big nerd) are having are separate from each other. Sky seems to be having some sort of problem with actually downloading the file, while Bonbo doesn't seem to have that problem.
In fact, I think I already know the problem Bonbo is having. I was having a similar problem to him when I was updating REX to 1.7.3, but not in 1.6.1, and I think it's because I was using an older version of Kopernicus when I was testing it in 1.6.1.

Real Solar Sytem has been released for KSP 1.7.3 for some time. Should the current Real Exoplanets 0.9 version be compatilbe with KSP 1.7.3?
I'm making it compatible with 1.7.3 as we speak. Only a few things needed to be changed to do that. I'll release an update probably today.

Sorry about my lack of intelligence. I put in the REX textures folder and I still get the same error.
Can I see your KSP log?

Here's my gamedata folder.
The mod downloaded properly but it doesn't load in game and I get a kopernicus error message.
I am using ksp 1.6.1 and i am using kopernicus 1.6.1-10
You didn't put the REX-textures file into your gamedata folder

I don't have any problems with the file size, but for all of the new stars, the flare is completely seperated from the actual star itself, as seen in the picture.
Also for some reason Europa, Enceladus and some similar moons look a lot darker than they do in real life photos.
That is a bug that only appears in the tracking station/map view. If you actually send something over there, the flares are not separated from the star.
As for the moons being dim, keep in mind that the images you see of planets/moons, especially ones in the outer solar system, have been brightened so that features are more clear and so that the image is more appealing. I had to change the Sun's light intensity curve since by default the Sun's brightness extends infinitely.

That's the same situation for me. The file takes a really long time and fails halfway through. Eventually when it finishes, I load up ksp and it doesn't work because the installation was incomplete.
Just so I can figure out if you two are experiencing the same problem, can you post a screenshot of your gamedata folder so I can make sure that you installed everything correctly?
Also, it should take quite a bit for the file to download given that it's 1.2 GB
9 hours ago, Sky! (Big nerd) said:Perhaps try quickly linking a dropbox or github link instead?
Here's a link to the same file but on dropbox. Tell me what happens

That is so strange because I've downloaded it on two different computers and on both it works totally fine. I have no idea why this is happening if I'm honest. I'm going to try something tomorrow.

It's 1.03 GB for me.
That's odd. It should be 1.2 GB. Are you sure you allowed it to download all the way through?

When I downloaded the zip it was 1.2 GB.
Yes I know but if the size of his zip file was super low, that means that the file is corrupted and was downloaded incorrectly.

Hey, I seem to be struggling to unzip the file, when I attempt with Winrar I get a warning message saying that "The archive is either in unknown format or damaged", and 7-zip isn't any better. I tried redownloading it but that also doesn't appear to be working.
What is the size of the zip file?

Just released REX. Most likely, there are kinks and issues that need to worked out that went unnoticed, so be aware of that.
Also yes it's for KSP 1.6.1 don't hate me

Do you have any plans to add some rogue planets or brown dwarfs? Cause that would be awesome!
That is something I plan on doing. There are some pretty close by brown dwarfs such as Luhman 16 which I plan to add.
Also, I do technically have a working version of REX 0.9, but I want to have some time to test through absolutely everything to make sure that everything is functioning properly, as there are some pretty major changes to REX coming.

While there is no Kopernicus 1.8.X you can not release anything.
That's not true. I'll just release it for 1.7.3

The problem is that there are many practical and ethical issues with Orion drives that are non-issues in KSP which together make it much easier to use than in real life. I mean, that's basically the nature of KSP; it's easier than real life.

Just a little progress update: I've completed all atmospheres and scatterer configs. All I need to do is make sure those scatterer atmospheres and EVE clouds are properly scaled when using the stock system. I'm also having a weird problem where TRAPPIST-1b doesn't scale properly like all of the other exoplanets, so I need to figure out what I need to do to fix that. At this point, I am hoping to release this major update before Thanksgiving, release a minor update in mid-December, and then release a somewhat major update around Christmastime/New Year's.

Why blue?(subsurface ocean?)
also, this looks really similar to NASA 's visualization.
Yes it is blue underneath from a subsurface ocean.
It looks like the NASA visualization on purpose

planet g looks like it has a small amount of liquid water, or it's just ice?
It's all ice. The blue areas are where the ice is thinner

How thick?
In the 10 - 20 atm range
And here is a lineup of all of the TRAPPIST-1 planets in Real Exoplanets:

Extrasolar has been updated once again! Enjoy

Here's a random from the surface of Maol. Also, I will be updating Extrasolar again soon. Changes will include some minor tweaks here and there, as well as compatibility with AVP and Spectra

Glad to see this back. Did Valentine's orbit change? It looks a lot more elliptical. I might need to move it in my install (I am using JNSQ) since the periapsis is so close to the outer planets in JNSQ.
Valentine's orbit did indeed change to reflect a slightly more realistic binary star orbit (most binary stars orbit each other rather elliptically). I'm assuming the reason why Valentine's periapsis is so close to the outer planets in JNSQ is because JNSQ is scaled up quite a bit but Extrasolar is not. However, I will create compatibility with JNSQ in the future.

Extremely complicated? you only need a Deadalus Engine, a reactor and a few radiators and your good to go.
I mean, it isn't too complicated for me, but I find that quite a few people tend to get confused and overwhelmed by KSPIE

wait i've always thought lomina was more the mass of uranus or neptune why is it 5 times the mass of jool (jool is around 4e+24 kg and lomina is about 2e+25 kg)? has it always been like that??
Lomina has always been like that. Lomina is basically if Neptune was the size of jupiter. Because Ice Giants are more dense, it means Lomina has a much greater mass than Jool despite having only a marginally larger radius.

Just updated REX to 1.7.3. In this latest update, you can also scale stellar distances to your liking through the settings file located in GameData/RealExoplanets/Settings.cfg.
