Of course we went RCSing about
And we return in a ball of fire

A mission to orbit Minmus was dispatched
Bill chills between observations
And a safe return is had
-
New rocket engines means new rockets to test
Upgraded to a poodle for the SM
And returned home , which gave Bob his first star
-
Jeb lands on the Mun
Jeb plants the flag
Take off
Jeb likes this stuff
On the way back
and a happy landing is had
-
Time for a Mun shot
The lander is sent off first.
Waiting for the crew.
Next the crew is sent off
And the crew meets up with the lander. After a rest period Jeb will conduct the landing.
-
Time for a test flight of the new 2 Kerbal capsule
SpoilerJeb "Lets listen to some tunes"
Lener: Oh no, he's playing another Grateful Dead concert tape
Separation from the 2nd stage
And a successful test is concluded
-
Spent the day training kerbals
And went on a trip to the Mun
Coming back we had to use a lot of the RCS propellent after using up all the fuel.
-
After discovering that my campaign did not have the correct DNS setting (it was too low). I restarted
So lots of satellites to launch for maps and communications
-
Sent Val off to land on Minmus
Trans- Minmus burn
And Val at Minmus
She flies off to get more science.
And she brings it all back home
-
The Minmus lander was sent off.
The first landing was successful so plans were made for a short hop to a new biome.
Which did not go well due to losing comms 100-200 meters above the surface.
Mission accomplished, all objectives were achieved.
-
I say go for KSP 1 . KSP 2 is an early access game and is not feature complete. I do not think they developed the interstellar part yet.
-

-
It was time for a Kerbaled Gartian Mission
SpoilerBooster separation and LED jettison.
Second stage start.
Fairing separation
Trans-Gartian burn
The Kerbals arrive and Bob gets the high orbit science
A fly by of Geminus is conducted and Bob gets more science.
SpoilerOn the return home it was noted that this is the fastest re-entry speed ever attempted with Kerbals
And 2 out of 3 kerbals are squished at this speed (almost 3 of them. Peak G force was 15+) and Poody is not smiling for the first time in the mission.
But they make it back alive and have a happy landing.

Morning time for the Augustus rover
First stop is the sky crane.
Then we go on a road trip. The rover is very far away from the sun.
SpoilerDriving involves
1 . Once it is day light , Discharge a capacitor to fill the dead batteries
2. Drive for 30-40 minutes doing stuff
3. Stop and charge batteries for the rest of the day with each solar panel in sunlight getting .03 EC per second at full exposure.
4. Charge capacitor for the night.
rinse and repeat.
Some sights
A transit
A night time transit of Augustus across Otho
-
I tested a rover
Then set it off to Augustus
Arrival at Otho
I get an encounter with Augustus about 10 days later with almost dry tanks
Entry
Parachute separation did not work but landing was made. (attached the chute to the fuel tank instead of the decoupler)
And waiting for daylight
-
Off to the last unharvested biome on Ceti
SpoilerAfter starting the trans Ceti burn on the second stage. We take a break to detach the lander and dock to it.
We then finish the burn up.
It looked a lot flatter on the map.
After some adjustments, we find a flat spot.
Landed at the Pole.
Bob gets science done.
SpoilerTime to go
Docking in the dark
Bob grabs the science.
The crew de-orbited the lander to get impact science before leaving for Gael
We have explosions on reentry. Always a good omen.
And nothing like good chutes all around.

The D/V calculator in the VAB can be set to different altitudes.
Click on the button that says Altitude and below that there will be a slider. You can move it to adjust the altitude.
So if you always stage at certain altitude you can set the slider to that height (say 15 KM) to see the effects on DV at that moment on the current stage.
