  1. This is an amazing mod! Though I stepped away from KSP after the failure of KSP2, I enjoy coming back now and seeing how much this mod has grown! As of writing this, I'm currently generating a modest 3 stars with many planets and moons about them. I will certainly keep posted on how this goes!
  2. Agreed. It turns out that ImageMagick wasn’t working, so i did the thing it told me not to do and set it to false in the limits script. 100 stars generated this way with 2-10 planets and 0-5 moons won’t kill me, eh? Right?
  3. SpaceDock and Github gave the same results. I tried both 9.5 and 9.6 with galaxy from both platforms.
  4. Hey, I’m away from my PC at the time. it did the same when i tried to generate 100 stars prior, where it would only generate one or two. Is the program supposed to just shut down when it’s done, or is it supposed to tell me that it’s finished? That would help me figure out if it’s busted or if I’m just very unlucky.
  5. I figured out that the system crashes immediately after it loads the color scheme for the first star. The next line of code is half-written and then the thing crashes.
  6. Okay, the executable itself isn't working properly. I'm on Windows 10, and it's all stored on a 2TB hard drive I installed recently. I got one star to load, but it looks pretty broken and none of the planets that were supposed to load did. I ran this test on both .95 and .96- .95 is the one that got a star to load in the first place. I asked the program to generate one star, two planets, with one moon each. It only generated the star, as previously mentioned. Here are the screenshots: https://imgur.com/Wadngkc https://imgur.com/hJ3gCw6
  7. When I click off of the System generator, it crashes. Is this normal? Nevermind, it just crashes after it tries loading the first two stars. I'm going to fight with it some more before I start asking more questions.
  8. from Craiyon: https://imgur.com/a/su0jT05 bottom left image. This is the Rocket: https://imgur.com/a/YNZYO8D I also generated the flag. took the bottom one from this screenshot. From Craiyon: https://imgur.com/a/uSamD3I Will follow up with launch + mission
  9. I'm having the same issue while playing on 1.12.2; it may be due to the version of parallax or perhaps the version. I'm checking parallax version first.
  10. Glad to hear! do you have any suggestions or tips for me to make? I'd love imput, currently going off of an idea I had a year ago.
  11. I got inspired by a few things. Gameslinx, a bucket of rocks, and TWG's Arkas development. I've thus decided that I would like to learn and experiment with Kopernicus every day (i can) for 365 days, starting August 11th, 2021. My goal is simple. Make a planet pack that's enjoyable and way over the top, that's compatible with some other big names, *cough cough* OPM *cough cough* and overall just a fun learning experience. For the first few days before the challenge begins, I'm going to try to expand my small brain to fit the universe of Kopernicus inside of it and teach myself the basics so I can make something neat. Any help would be appreciated. Day One; My Birthday: I kicked off this self-proclaimed-challenge with a bang, (or maybe a boom?) Huge thanks to TheWhiteGuardian for helping me along thusfar, I probably bore him to death. After over two hours, plenty of help, and trying to figure out how to convert files from .txt to .cfg, I successfully Created DAWN! the center of my new system. Until I get a home planet made, Dawn will be orbiting Kerbol at a really safe distance (so I don't have to look at it unless I want to) I also started work on a small planet named Prova. Day Two: Today was very busy, with school and some exercise. I had very little time to work on anything today. I started on a gas giant (~7x Jool's size) that will be white with gold accents running through it (and maybe a thin, highly inclined ring from a munar collision) I'm only about halfway done with the config file of it. Maybe I can finish it tomorrow.
  12. I did it about two weeks back but didn't record it. Using a ~7.5 ton lander, it took me 27 3.75m heatsheilds to descend from low Reaper orbit. Heating stopped at around 40-45km altitude. Landing used 3 drogue chutes, 4 normal chutes were deployed after, and the probe was safely on the surface. I took a rather average descent profile, too, after using hyperedit to put it into the lowest safe orbit. any higher and it would have been game over. Basically, due to heating restraints, it's impossible to return from reaper unless you use ELP.
  13. Mod discussion. I was thinking I would warrant some sort of cool response from it. I've already landed on Reaper and returned, so I can just delete this now lol
  14. I burnt up entirely at ~90km in altitude. That's why it's such a hard challenge.
  15. I forgot about my own challenge momentarily, but I'm back, so let's give it a go.
  16. To add on to this, I'm going to attempt a landing myself. Might figure out how to stream on Youtube as well, because that'd be fun. Best of luck, Reapers.
  17. I've been on vacation for two weeks, and it was fun, but I missed exposing my Kerbals to 100,000+ g forces and enough radiation to kill a human in milliseconds. I just got back home yesterday, booted up KSP, and forgot I had downloaded AfterKerbin. I went back through the planets, and I saw something peculiar while looking at Jool's future analog, Reaper... And I had to know; has ANYONE ever successfully landed and returned to orbit FROM Reaper? If not, does anyone have any plans to? Edit: Reaper is the future analog of Jool, with the about same atmosphere as jool, and ridiculous gravity.
  18. About 7 months later, I've totally forgotten about this thread. I'm sorry to inform everyone that I have no plans to continue this. Sorry all, R3d
  19. Steam gave me the error message "Depot download failed : Manifest not available" I tried to tell CKAN to fake it being 1.11.0, but my mind is square and I didn't know what i was doing so CKAN crashed
  20. I'm not sure if this is intentional, but I can't switch back to version 1.11 after I updated to 1.11.1 using the Steam Launcher. Most of the mods I'm using are stuck on 1.11, as well. :l Under the "Properites" tab, there's a "Betas" Tab. this allows you to switch versions. 1.11 is not on that list.
  21. Hello Everyone! R3dst0ne_ here. I just set up an account because I have a dream to make a planet pack. There's one thing stopping this: None of the tutorials are up to date. And while there's probably a deep web kopernicus guide that is, the ones that aren't sketchy are all YEARS old. Aand... I'm too lazy to look for them. Which is why I came here in the first place. But despite my pointless babbling, I'm posting here to try and make a planet pack. and a halfway decent one at that. My idea is rather complicated, too. the name will be "Dawn." Dawn will take place earlier in the history of the universe's history. (and don't worry, when I do learn how to make the mod, I'll reconfigure this post for download) I have a few ideas for planets already, most of which are being modeled from rocks or marbles. The home planet will be a dying world, covered in a thick layer of ice. The HP will be a trojan of the Gas Giant, orbiting behind it but on about the same orbit and same orbital period. It'll have a thin atmosphere, breathable only a few kilometers above Sea level. It will have water underneath the ice, perhaps also a few large holes on the equator where a craft can explore the depths of the frozen seas. It will have two moons orbiting on the other side of the planet from the other. Moon one will be scarred and set ablaze, with lava oceans and bounties of riches for mining. (great refueling depot for long distance travel.) Moon two will be a rather flat and whitish in tint, would be good for racing and putting a rover on for science purposes. The stars in the middle will be a binary system- one a HUGE red giant, the other a sun-sized planet. The sun-sized planet will orbit the other from quite a distance away, and may have a few small planets. Gas Giants will be rare. I only plan on having 1 in the core system. This may change as time goes on. The Gas Giant will at most have 3 moons (an asteroid, a Tylo-like, and a Vall with an atmosphere), probably no ring, and likely a light blue or orange. Belt Planets, however, will orbit outside of the gas giant and will all be rather numerous. there will be an asteroid belt there, may also hold some comets (because why not?) BP1: (Yes I'm going to call them BP for Belt Planet until I name them.) Will be covered in impact craters. asteroids will be orbiting it closely, and it will have a debris ring. No atmosphere. BP2: a super flat planet with no atmosphere. It's also the largest (Neat thing, though, I'm not sure if I want any atmosphere at all for BP2, so YOU will have the choice to decide this!) BP3: red stained, irregular, and tiny. about twice/ three times the size of a giant comet in 1.10. PB4: Definitely atmospheric, though the atmosphere will be really thin; it will be on the outer side of the ring. Speakin' of rings, this planet will have two! also a moon, smaller than Gilly, acting as a shepherd for the inner ring. This will be a bit outside of the ring, though. It just kind of fits here. Inner Planets! Seems I skipped this part. There will be two, another really fiery one (like moon 1 of the Home Planet), and another which is burned dark, but no lava. Perhaps it has cooled since it was formed? Outer Planets will also be a thing, outside of the belt. I only plan on having 2. A gas giant could be a third and then bring another ring system in, idk. OP1: A Chloric and super toxic planet with a very thick atmosphere and a moon just like it. Have fun, it's the final challenge of the star system. OP2: Far away, pluto/eeloo like planet with two moons, an asteroid and a similar-sized moon, making it the only true binary system in the entire star system. POP3: gas giant of the opposite color of the other, perhaps red even, with a dark ring. One moon, laythe-like. Perhaps you could land on it? And remember, this is all just extremely early thinking. It all depends if I ever learn how to create planet packs in KSP. But hey, any suggestions are wonderful and breathes life into the community.
