  1. That sounds like a full kraken attack to me. The only worst I’ve heard about are the hell kraken and such that can delete the solar system (I think squad has patched those already). Maybe people consistently have worse I’ve only had massive stations fall apart for no reason on launch, but auto strut fixes that.
  2. This has happened to me too, I just tend to change the deploy force to 300+. The main culprit for this though has been clamshell fairings. The confetti rarely breaks my craft.
  3. Artemis 9 Before we get to all the excitement of landing on Armstrong for the second time (I know big whoop, but it still was a noteworthy mission, and I needed the science). I have put off showing the Solar probes for long enough (in spoiler below) Solar probes: Paladin 2: (This is was just a routine mission to rescue 2 kerbals and bring Val home) Artemis 9:
  4. I think it’s a setting called EVA kerbals follow camera or something like that. I find it useful.
  5. Ash I did it!!! Manned landing and uh.... return from Ash! Only took 3 iterations and uhhh some sweat and blood to get it done... The report: In the background here are the solar series of probes going to Hydrus, Scindo, and Fury, but ill include these on a different post.
  6. I played a little Monday and have been working on a manned ash lander. Delta v was good, but the lander was cryogenic (aka really tall) and tipped over in ash’s high gravity even after 15 quick loads. Anyways I just scrubbed the mission and treated it as a simulation cause I can’t be bothered to do a rescue attempt. Did a redesign with more Dv and a terrier lander to make the lander small and wide as well as packing on more dv. Just need to build a 20 ton launcher or do some orbital docking...
  7. Just some ideas to help you with science: Have you re-farmed the KSC with new science equipment? You are right that flying over them nets a lot of additional science you can even do it on the ground with some skill and luck I believe. 2 ideas (I’m no expert just have seen previous nano attempts): if you can get bill into orbit on Eva you can get science for each Eva report above each biome (ok now that I think about this, orbit may be a bit much, but sub-orbit could be doable). 2. If you have the reliant unlocked you can barely squeak by a mun flyby for science. (This works because the reliant has less mass than the swivel making it the better upper stage engine.) just some ideas.
  8. The Adventures of Muddy the rover Ok, now that I have gotten the background info out of the way, let's get into how I spent my Saturday this week... This is a rover, his name is Muddy, because Lua... is muddy. I built this rover because I needed science, so why not plunder every biome on Lua? Well now that the rover has done its job, and every lunar night makes the rover run out of electricity and scrapes the two hour limit the kerbals have without electricity, it is time for an evacuation, I mean planned return. After all of that work Hadzor and Franlong are awarded with 2 stars each, and some well deserved R&R. Also, SCIENCE!!! This science was spent on smaller propulsion units (like sepetrons) and some construction type stuff. Also need to check in with my orbital lab for even more science. I usually outlaw the mobile lab, but with Near Future stuff (as well as maybe installing Extraplanetary launchpads, and Far Future stuff later) I need the science.
  9. 1st off- my save game is called Odyssey Space Program, but I realize this isn't a very original name so if need be I will change it. I have finally started a mission report for this playthrough! By finally I mean I am definitely in the midgame at this point. Major Accomplishments thus far: Orbit! Landing on Lua (1st moon out of three) like the mun, but with a very thin atmosphere that happens to contain trace amounts of oxygen Did this apollo style, but don't have any pictures of the return. Landing on Armstrong, which is basically Minmus minus the mint ice-cream I've also landed probes on all three moons, including ash, the moon that has a 1600 m/s orbital velocity and an orbit at the edge of Rhode's SOI... its a beast I sent a probe to land and return, and used all the fuel up landing. I have also sent Prospect 4 to well, prospect Hydrus (eve) and have Solar One awaiting a transfer window to Fury (moho, but not really, I think it has a decent atmosphere) In this career I have been cheating myself funds, because without a contract pack for Beyond Home the only way I can get money is by doing grindy tourist stuff, and station building missions, which are difficult with life support. However, all science that I have earned is legit. I occasionally use the alt f12 menu to fix bugs (ex. I timewarped with a probe going to armstrong and the Ap of the orbit dropped 2 million km without reason, so I just cheated the orbit back), and I definetly quicksave scum, although I try to cut it down I hate killing kerbals, so the F9 usually wins. Important mods: TAC life support, Near future everything (but aeronautics, I'll probably add that later), SSPX, Kerbal Planetary Base Systems, Eve, Scatterer, Tantares and Tantares LV, Kerbal Atomics, Cyro engines, Cyro tanks, (notice Nertea fever here, these parts are great by the way), Bonvoyage, Chatterer, Historian , KAS + KIS, Real plume, Restock and Restock +, Distant object, enhancement, ScanSat, Parallax, Beyond Home (duh!), Astrogator, KAC, KER, Better burn time, and Trajectories. Also, due to RL I can really only play Kerbal on weekends, so that is probably when I'll post updates.
  10. Did you by and chance hit Mod + L? This causes the stage light to turn pink and prevents you from staging. (To fix this just hit Mod + L again). If the stage light is green than you probably just forgot to throttle or it is a bug.
  11. Uhh I just looked at his account and he hasn’t been on since 2014, so I don’t think he is responding, maybe someone else can respond saying if @Ollz can use it or not? (I’m new and don’t know protocol here)
  12. Lies! Popestar just wants all the ice cream for himself.
  13. Jeb... he has become far too powerful... Seriously this is amazing. I can’t believe it actually flies!!!
  14. I’m all for revamps (parts and planets) as well as life support (that doesn’t break modded life support if you want that) as a difficulty setting, no forcing it on people because doing 200 year long missions with maximum gravity assists is the way some want to play. Also an in game transfer window planner would be nice, but I get how that might freak out new players if they open it before they are ready.
  15. The grind... I mean journey, begins!!! Best of luck!!!
  16. I think the “too big” is determined in each parts file, but yeah the devs probably just determined this based on mass.
  17. I don’t know the specifics but I remember hearing that the 1.875m monopropellant tank from making history is the largest part a kerbal can handle.
  18. Yeah that’s a bug with the new update. It’s already reported here. https://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/issues/27233
  19. I assume you are trying to use the rectangular probe core as the base and I had two ideas: - you could place it in a thin structural part such as a girder which would support the probe core while still giving you space to place the wheels - you could place the probe core vertically and place the wheels on its side and then “shove” it over onto its wheels by bumping into it with a jet packing kerbal. note: I have never built a rover in situ so these ideas may be faulty, but since no one has responded I thought these might be worth a try
  20. Sadly this is a 1.11.1 bug and not related to your mods. It’s already reported on the bug tracker here https://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/issues/27162
  21. Great job! Took me a while to make one I ended up going through like 20 iterations. It’s always the landing gear that get me with the plane just veering off the runway during take off.
  22. I meant no R and D upgrade (like the building) sorry for the confusion. Yeah doing it with just fleas though... Now that’s a challenge
  23. Still... it’s impressive, it would also be fun to see this being done on other “courses” (like a grand tour or something). It’s just mind boggling to me that you can do a moho and eeloo mission in a single launch with only R&D level 1 tech.
  24. These orbital acrobatics are... impressive ... you could maybe even make a challenge to see if anyone can beat this (which would be difficult with the 42 gravity assists and all...).
