It's not possible. Because while the ship will be able to quickly go under it, you must travel up, your velocity stop to zero and then you'll start to speed back up. By the time you got to the other side of the arc, the ship would be long gone.

Space Stations - For those who make 'em.
AncientAstronaut replied to Vostok's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You guys have great space stations... Seriously. That's the coolest stuff I've EVER seen in KSP. Vostok, I'm stealing your design -
Welcome back. When did you leave? You'll be happy to know that we're getting a bunch of new planets and moons next update.

How Construct perfect munar rocket
AncientAstronaut replied to Pawelk198604's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Build it based on Delta-V calculations. It's easy to make a Mun Rocket if you know how much Delta-V you have and how much you need. Mun Rockets can be a lot smaller than you'd think. I have three qualified ones -- 100% stock. -
Uh. Nope. All you have to do is use some basic math to find out a launch window. Then launch into it and perform the intercept at the right phase angle and burn point with the proper Delta V that you'll be sent on a course towards the planet and get pulled in by its gravity. There's no need to screw around with orbits with a proper ratio, navball angles and all that other nonsense. The math for this stuff is not very hard. You're going to end up wasting a huge amount of Delta-V, fuel and your own time doing this. Kosmo-Not's guide has the math written up. It's got the equations and what each letter means. If you want to go to another planet, do it the efficient way and simply take some time to learn the math. It's easy.

What is this supposed to be? -

Well yeah I know it's not really a pre-fix, but it'd be a prefix meaning "desert" in the new planet. I like your idea for landing on the lava border. I may try that, too. I like the fact that on Char, it's always night time on the far side. The problem with that, though, is that you can't really enjoy landing on it. It may just be a planet that's nice to orbit. -
EVA packs aren't jet packs, guys. They're mainly supposed to be used for spacewalk maneuvering. It just so happens that on small bodies like Mun and Minmus, they work as jetpacks.

I have a suggestion for the name of the desert planet. Hopefully Nova reads this: How about Descartes? The Descartes highlands were Apollo 16's landing site on the Moon and it has the prefix "des" for desert. -

Yeah... Why are you talking like that? That's annoying. -TO KEEP THIS POST ON TOPIC, please enjoy a forced sentence about .17 that I didn't need- I'm going to look for life on the desert planet with probes. -
I've been real busy and haven't been able to do much more of the texturing lately. I'm working on a job at my cousins' house and getting paid so I can make a mock up spacecraft. haha. So don't worry everyone. As soon as the work there is done, I've got more work to do on Mercury with MrPwner to help texture.

I'm going to go to Charr first I think. It will be fun to orbit. Flying over lava and such. Also, Dilly will be cool to jump while on EVA. -

Nova, a friend and I were wondering if you plan on releasing the Orbital information for the desert planet before .17 is released. We're doing inteplanetary course calculations and it will help to know where the planets are so on the day of release we're ready. Just a question... -
Land on Minmus with no landing gear

I was actually the first person to land on Minmus with no landing gear. Check out the Minmus Achievements thread. lol. It can be done. Nice landing. -

Your Craziest Mishap During a Mission
AncientAstronaut replied to aceassasin's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I was testing my most powerful rocket ever designed. Crazy things started going wrong and because there were six SRBs attached to the bottom -- quickly overheating -- I had to come up with a solution in seconds. I used the launch escape, jettisoned the SRBs to hit the fuel tank and blow it up and have that force propel me towards the ocean. It worked and I parachuted back down with an epic abort under my belt. -

The Gravitational Parameter figures on the KSP wiki are right. Just use those. -
I wasn't trying to be rude. Hopefully he didn't take offense. Sorry about the way it seemed to come off.
