  1. I've had the same save since v.18 and it's up to year 21, day 85 now.
  2. Every time we've got a long burn we aught to post in here what the ship / mission / burn time is.
  3. Shoot, the RCS tanks weren't. I just swapped them out for stock ones and updated the save / specs.
  4. Here's my submission: Name - FactoryX Shuttle Screenshots - http://s222.photobucket.com/user/Mazlem/library/KSP/FactoryX-Shuttle Specs - 34.79 tons, 51 parts, and Kerbal Engineer says 4478 deltaV / 3.5 TWR at the Mun Made by Mazlem Craft file download HERE On my first test it had enough fuel to finish its Kerbin orbit, go to the Mun and circularize its orbit there, then land. So I think it's got enough deltaV for the job. //edit the RCS tanks were not stock so I swapped those out and re-uploaded the save file.
  5. Harv do you mean for this shuttle to be able to refuel things at the base? Or to be able to refuel itself from the base tanker so it can get into orbit?
  6. Your video is likely several gigs in size. Get a program like Handbrake to compress it down to a reasonable level. A 20 minute video I did using Fraps was 11GB and Handbrake compressed it down to 140MB.
  7. After recording this video I finally got some editing software an music and uploaded it to youtube (in HD!). It's the same scenario as the 'dock with no RCS' challenge which I completed a while back. The Munbuggy goes from the surface to the Munsion Junction station and back again. Hope it's entertaining enough.
  8. Finished editing/uploading a video using the same scenario as the 'Dock with no RCS' challenge I'd done a while ago:
  9. Oh yea I do that sort of thing all the time. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/32394-The-coolest-stunts-we-ve-pulled-in-KSP?p=402081&viewfull=1#post402081
  10. Your launchers are not perfect. How do you know they are if you've never used them to deliver something? Think about that!
  11. I just had this happen the other day - aerobraked too low in Jool, ended up 'landing' the ship at I think -90m. Fiddled with the landing gear or somethin and it exploded but the capsule was ok. Did an EVA an the Kerbal got scrambled, so I ended the flight, but all the planets were gone; my ships/stations were still ok though. Good thing for backups.
  12. Took this shot of Jool from the sands of Lathe:
  13. Well I only got to 10,634 meters but the Kerbal did survive.
  14. Yea in Settings / General there's a 'Simulate in Background' option.
  15. I see it froze up; do you have 'render in background' checked?
  16. A friend of mine said I have too much time on my hands. I sent this in reply. I do not either! However, when I happen to have a shuttle… And it needs to get from Duna to the space station above, but it’s got too little fuel… So I send a space tug diving after it… Pull it back from the jaws of Duna’s gravity… And successfully bring them both back to the station with the barest 4.04 units of fuel left! Where was I going with that? Oh yea, no I don’t have too much time on my hands!
  17. During my first week of playing I was absolutely pissed off a lot of the time because I *thought* I knew what I was doing but still couldn't make a ship that wouldn't fall apart, and when I did get one built I still couldn't get into an orbit. It wasn't until reading / watching a lot of tutorials on building stuff and getting an orbit / rendezvousing that I got to understand the game. Then it took another week of kinda starting over before I got to a point of having enough experience to do anything useful. So stick with it! Especially early in the game when things seem really hard, finally getting something accomplished like getting a good orbit, docking to another ship or building a basic space station are really rewarding.
  18. I de-orbited my first Kerbin station, so now the oldest is Munsion Junction at 12y 189d
  19. I was driving around with the MunBuggy an decided to do this challenge again using that. Took a bit more work cause it doesn't have any computer controls. Got it up an docked with the Munsion Junction station, refueled an sent it back down. It came back with less fuel than when I started but hey that's what the refueling station is for.
  20. It sure is impressive though! Do you know how many parts it has?
  21. Built this little guy just for you Bsalis! Launching Burning for orbit Backing it in (I of course wasn't lined up quite right and had to make a few corrections) Docked! Funny enough that's my fuel station but it was empty. Since the ship still had fuel though I sent Chaddun home Landed a bit short of the VAB
  22. I sent this up to the Mun so Jeb would have something to play in. 55.2m/s - it landed but popped the tires; had to turn it around and use the engine to brake, which took 1Km till it finally stopped.
