  1. I second this. Reflective gold texture for the EVA helmet visor would be killer.
  2. Wonder if it would be possible to give a GUI menu to specify orbits for each body? Basically allow you to enter your own orbital parameters for each body and then create?
  3. Okay, I've spent the past few hours since I posted mercilessly hacking apart the RealSolaySystem.cfg files and I am SO CLOSE, but I must be missing something to restore the planets to their default settings, aside from their realistic orbits & positions. Particularly, all vehicles spawn floating inside Kerbin when taken from VAB/SPH. KSC itself looks fine from the outside building selection menu with everything appropriately scaled back. Any chance of getting some direction, or an example, of what I should be changing exactly? If I can get it to work, I'd make available here so others can use it as a stepping stone to the full RSS. As for what mods don't work on my end. Its mostly just RAM limit crashes, having to cut absolutely unessential parts. Also adjusting thrust levels to get my ass in orbit, as I probably dont have the greatest grasp of Realfuels honestly. I have several large mods (the usual suspects, plus anything that adds resource harvesting & logistics stuff), and running RSS and Overhaul, realfuels, etc everything that goes along with it seems to push it over the edge in my case. :/ Thanks! o7 edit: you should totally decapitate kerbals, they need some serious cranial reduction. Nothing worse that ricocheting off your spacecraft because your head didnt clear ladder. Reducing their head-size and just giving them a solid gold face shield could be a nice first step, Jebs' not the prettiest guy to stare at all day anyhow.
  4. This mod is outstanding, but I am curious if there any plans for a "Lite" version that remains kerbal scaled, with just bodies and orbits rearranged? I love this mod, but the planet scales make it all but unworkable with some of my favorite mods without significant reconfigs. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but I like to play the game more than play with the .cfg files. PS - Also...any idea if there is a mod out there to replace the kerbals themselves with human modeled astronauts? or at the very least, scale down their massive noggins?
  5. Great news! I just came across this today as I have been basically hacking apart the American pack and others for the past week to try and make something along these lines for personal use, how ever its been frustratingly nonfunctional so far. This looks incredible and I hope to a see a near future release. Aside from Bobcat, who else is needed to get onboard? PS - Orion textures plz, they are amazing.
  6. The concept trailer was amazing, and I've watched a few "Lets Play" videos of its progress so far. It looks like they are making some good headway towards delivering what they showed. I particularly liked the idea of being able to tailor the solar system to your liking before starting a match. However it's lack of stability has kept me from buying it thus far. I don't mind a glitchy or incomplete beta experience, but constant CTD is too much of a deal-breaker, and that still happens quite often from what Ive seen around. Once it gets a bit more stable I'll probably pick it up though, it looks like a ton of fun.
  7. Atleast in North America, after you cross a certain height threshold you are passing into airspace that is monitored by the FAA, and they want to be made aware if there are going to be any high-speed missiles crossing in the potential paths of any overflying aircraft. Also, alteast with any substantially sized rocket, the military is going to want to be appraised as well as not to mistake it for an attack, and more importantly...so they make sure OTHER military's know they are not being attacked. Unannounced missile/rocket launches tends to cause a spike in Cold War era alert systems Id imagine.

    Do you think?

The United States/NASA specifically? Probably not. Everyone seems focused on Mars, and there is barely even any political will or funding for that as is. I don't have alot of confidence Congress wont kill Orion/SLS just like it did Constellation or EVERY OTHER attempt to get out of LEO since Apollo. Humanity? I'd say 50/50. Id bet a joint Chinese/ESA/Russian effort could pull it off. The US is too paranoid about tech-theft to cooperate with Chinese initiatives, but the ESA (particularly Germany), and Russia have made some inroads. China seems to have alot of ambition to stake its claim as a superpower, so I could see a journey to the moon to be a nice feather in their cap towards that pursuit. Overall though, alot of its pointless unless we establish an atleast semi-permanent presence there. Personally I'd like to more effort towards orbital construction practices that the Russians have talked about.
  9. Watching Star Trek TNG and Cosmos with my uncle as a wee lad. Always thought Id pursue a career in a related field until I realized around high-school that I detest advanced math. I do logistics nowadays, but always keep an eye out of a way to shoehorn myself into a related position someday. edit: also, visiting KSC (Thats Kennedy, not Kerbal) was absolutely mindblowing to 8 year oldish me. I even got picked from the audience to experience some of the exercise system they had in a demo module, for then future ISS. I got a neat small-person-size shuttle-crew jumpsuit and jacket that I got to keep at the end. It was amazing.

    CIV 5 RP mod

A Kerbin map for Civilization would be amazing. Ive not picked up Civ 5, does it come with a map editor?
  11. "Space Engineers" might have what your looking for? It just released as early access on steam. I haven't tried it myself though...yet. Also "X Rebirth" is coming out soon. Its effectively a singleplayer version of EVE Online. Not sure on the destruction front though, but it looks overall very impressive.
  12. Rockets! Alternatively, and hopefully for future use as a decal. I have a giant clipart gallery of logos, I don't remember where I got half of them. Time to make use!
  13. uh....about 15 to 20 minutes >_> numerous mods and flights and stuff. Its a mess, but worth every minute
  14. Any chance the Cheyenne will come with a white texture pack? I love your mods, but the variety of texture colors really makes them look out place with the rest of my fleet or incredibly mismatched when parts are used with stock style parts, or even mixing matching between your own ships. WT-51 for example. Either way, great work and looking forward to future downloads
  15. Completely designing sleek spaceships from the ground up, then the trial and error of figuring out what may look cool, but doesn't actually work!
