  1. Okay, I'm still having a problem with the IR telescope and the helium cryostat. Does the telescope need to be directly mounted on the helium tank? I have the helium tanks on docking ports on the side of the vessel so that I can drop them once used up, but the IR telescope always just says "Helium Coolant D..." which I'm assuming means "coolant depleted."
  2. Yes, I'm using a helium cryostat. Maybe it's because they're mounted on struts, but I was hoping that wasn't the problem- because that means I have to relaunch it all over again.
  3. I have four helium tanks on my space telescope, but it won't do anything and says "Helium coolant depleted". It's not depleted and it has plenty of power- what am I doing wrong?
  4. The ISS can easily outshine any star in the sky- it's pretty spectacular. On a mod related note, could you make solar panels a factor in how bright something is? They're pretty reflective and I think they would make a difference- more solar panels = brighter dot.
  5. I decided to take a long distance shot, and got a pretty nice view of all the planets. The dark spot in front of the Sun is indeed Moho. Unfortunately most of my ships have decided that they want to either be nonexistent or stuck underground now, but I hope that's not the fault of this mod.
  6. The heat shield looks a bit strange in one picture- the reflectivity of it almost makes it look like someone stretched a black plastic garbage bag over it. Other than that, it looks utterly fantastic.
  7. The redshift only becomes even noticeable in spectra over distances of millions of light years- in this case, it would make no difference whatsoever.
  8. Instant download. This is something I've always wanted- Jupiter, Saturn, and satellites are all easily visible with the naked eye from Earth, so why not in KSP? Fantastic work!
  9. I'd name it Rigel, after one of the brightest stars in Orion. Looks fantastic, though!
  10. I don't know if this is possible, but one thing I've always wanted is for the exhaust to expand as atmospheric pressure drops. For example, see this video: At first the exhaust plume is very "tight", but as the rocket gains altitude the atmospheric pressure drops and the exhaust plume widens by a significant degree- by the time they drop stage 1 the exhaust is huge. Is it possible to implement this in KSP?
  11. That's awesome, I'm glad to hear you can start working on it again. That Ace Combat mission was one of my favorites because of the mass driver, so it's great to know that eventually I can launch stuff of my own.
  12. That's awesome, glad to hear it. Despite all the arguments that "Kerbals are genderless!" they still have a distinctly male appearance with the square jaw and buzz cut, not to mention the mostly male names. It'd be nice to either see female Kerbals or a more gender-neutral Kerbal look.
  13. I'm having trouble with mine- the server seems to keep reloading old debris that I've deleted, and when I try to launch, it spawns another copy of my ship inside itself on the pad- causing it to blow up and create more debris that I have to delete (because dekessler isn't working on it.) My friend is having the same issue. Also, I can't click on any buttons on the main KMP window (clicking on them highlights them, but has no effect) and the sync button, chat button, and the playerlist are nonexistent.
  14. Oh man, this would actually be really cool- I'm a sucker for rainbows too. I might switch back and forth between skyboxes depending on what mood I'm in. Unrelated: You showed that you could replace planet textures- how did you do that?
  15. This is really nitpicky, but I'm noticing stuff about the 4096 skybox- a lot of things are misplaced. The Orion Nebula is off to the side, the Large and Small Magellanic clouds are nowhere near each other, Ursa Minor is entirely missing, Canis Major is in the wrong spot... the current version is fantastic for anyone who doesn't care that much, but for me it just doesn't quite cut it. Thanks for the mod though, because it's great.
  16. As an amateur astronomer and huge night sky fanatic: I love this- now I can see all my favorite constellations (and occasional deep sky objects) while I fly in KSP. Higher res would be fantastic though!
  17. Out of curiosity, how did you rip the textures? Even if we can't put new ones back in, it'd still be nice to make my own take on the planets (and the night sky, because it's way too lowres for my tastes).
