  1. I just hope we get to see some new planets by December 2014... By that time we should already have a properly-working science system, almost bug-free game and everything polished.
  2. Squad please grant these people's wishes!!! It's also my wish, btw...
  3. Just wondering what plans does Squad have regarding the second space center: could it be that we'll see a multiplayer mode where the two players work one against the other in a somewhat nostalgic space race? Maybe with different goals or milestones, like first kerbals into orbit, first ones to reach the Mun, first Dunian probes... We're just speculating here, I just liked the idea of competing against someone else's space program, with no time or resources to waste. It would be quite a thrilling experience. Of course this doesn't mean a co-op mode between space programs wouldn't be awesome too
  4. Looking at the in-game planetary system, I can make some assumptions based on the already existing planets and moons: Moho will probably stay the same, and I'm happy that way. Being a Mercury analog, it just needs to be small and roasted. No need for lava on moho, plus it'd be a bit unrealistic. Eve... Now I'd like to see my engines overheat while burning in Eve's atmosphere, being way hotter than Kerbin's one. Duna. If Squad ever adds atmospheric wheater, I'd love to see sand storms on Duna from time to time. Reduced visibility and the wind makes your ship tilt sideways, it would be realistic and cool =) Laythe and Eeloo are the only other bodies where I could see natural threats actually being implemented (if they don't add other bodies, that is): Layhte was to become a more vulcanically active moon, more like Io, but still keeping its oceans and oxygen-rich atmosphere. While Eeloo was to have cryo-vulcanism, with powerful gaysers that would knock your ship off the ground if you were to land too close to one. Don't know if we'll ever see that though, those were Novasilisko's ideas, I'll just keep my fingers crossed in the hope that someday I'll see something of what I listed here...
  5. No it doesn't. In KSP the challenge is building, launching and landing succesfully the rockets and spacecrafts that you create. It's a sandbox with a nice degree of simulation, not a rogue-like where everything must be randomized or else it "leads to boredom". Having a consistent solar system gives you the opportunity to master all the different techniques that you'll need if you don't want to fail miserably at the game. Plus, this is good for multiplayer, because all the players will play in the same playground, thus incresing the competition in a possible competitive multiplayer, and making things easier in a possible co-op.
  6. Well, I don't know where you read this, because I think Squad has not planned to add procedurally generated planetary systems into the game, because they want it so everyone can have the same experience, visiting the same planets and moons, and not just some cool place that you only can visit ad no one else could. I'd still lik to see a slightly more complex solar system, preferably by september/october of this year... you know, an asteroid belt where Dres's orbit is... second gas giant... refurbished Jool moons and GP2 moons... don't know how much of that will actually be in 1.0, but I'm sure Squad will know how to amaze us in the right way.
  7. Quick question before I think a bit more about applying: how much time do you think this could take a player daily/weekly? On average.
  8. Captain Sierra, there seem to be more easter eggs on the new lab module, too. Have a look at this thread, if you haven't already: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/65672-Just-found-this-cool-easter-egg There's more info in the comments below the first post. I don't know, maybe you could find the time to add it in the wiki section, or tell someone to do so. Just letting you know, in case you weren't aware of it =)
  9. Well done finding it! Easter eggs like this always cheer me up =)
  10. there'll be no point in wanting an extra planetary system if the one we have already becomes more interesting. I'd quote the discussions on the second gas giant which "supposedly" will make its way into the final game, or the addition of some asteroids along Dres's orbit... but I digress. Travelling to another solar system with conventional, realistic means would take way too much time, so we probably won't see anything like that (we don't even need it). But DLC like... extra "part packs"? Who knows. I'll still buy anything KSP-related, if DLC becomes a thing in the future.
  11. Though not strictly needed, I'd really appreciate the addition of new dynamic music into the game, following the basic idea that that guy from the video had. Entering the sphere of influence of another body, landing or getting into orbit... Just imagine if all those actions were accompanied by their own specific track =D
  12. To be honest, I think space music in KSP would work perfectly only if it was dynamic, depending around which celestial body you're currently orbiting. For instance, we should have a specific track for every planet and moon, which kicks in as soon as you enter the sphere of influence of the object. Orbiting around Jool would make the game play some majestical orchestral music, but approaching Tylo would change the soundtrack to something a little more tense, and so on and so forth. Then of course, if you landed on Tylo the situation would be less frantic, the worst being over, and maybe a change of music might be needed at that point.
  13. Mmm, alright. I can see now that EVA suits should stay white. Thanks for the info r4pt0r!
  14. Really liking this thread, it's good to see someone caring about the Easter Eggs, which right now are the only things aside from the KSC and a few other things to not just be random "terrain scatter". Anyway, let's all keep in mind that planets' geography may and will probably change/be improved before the final version of the game is out. so Squad will have to move and fix the positions of many of their interesting landmarks... So I don't really mind if something gets underground after an update, as long as nothing gets deleted =)
  15. Just a minor suggestion here, I don't know how career mode is going to evolve, if there's going to be a scripted start to it, with specific missions that take new players by the hand and teach them a few things about rocket construction and orbiting... or if it is going to be open-ended from the very beginning, as it is now. But just in case the first scenario was what the game more or less will look like, then It would be nice if your starting kerbonauts, Bill Bob and Jebediah, wore their orange space suits not only in IVA mode, but also EVA. It'd be a minor addition, but one I'd really like to see in the final game =)
  16. In my very honest opinion, once someone in KSP has reached and explored every celestial body, has set up bases everywhere or sent probes to all the rocky balls in the system. Or even maxed out the rech-tree, if you're playing campaign... well, what else can you do? You could come up with specific space programs, like doing a reusable one, or sending spaceplanes to Laythe, or gliders to Duna or whatever. But we all know, the reason why man went into space, the reason why you, as a player, bought KSP and tried again and again, till it worked, to reach the outer moons and planets, is the curiosity and sense of exploration which dwell in our minds. We can be happy with new stock parts to work with, or new science mechanics, but when the space center was redone, along with the island airfield, or when Squad added Eeloo, or Pol, I bet you felt enthusiastic, not just happy, because you knew you were going to explore new places and such, you already now what I'm trying to say here. I don't ask for much, but the ideas Novasilisko had for the future of KSP, like the second gas planet and its moons, or redoing Tylo and Vall (which I agree, look kinda generic compared to other bodies) were really good, and got me excited. Squad could take inspiration from these ideas and, I don't know, even 2 new bodies per year would be more than enough, just to keep me hooked to the game =)
  17. Let me get right to the point and suggest something that I would be happy to see in the game: sub-menus for the VAB and SPH editors. So, for example, if I were looking for a decoupler in the "structural" page in the editor, sure now it'll take me but 2 seconds, but for a beginner it would be great to be able to click a "Decouplers/separators" sub-menu and having the editor show just those parts. Or even having the option of just seeing specific-sized parts, like "large diameter" and "small diameter" and "tiny diameter", depending on what kind of rocket I need to build. I think it would let beginners get more acquainted with the editor (specialy if they jumped right into sandbox mode), and it would certainly help someone that has lots of custom parts in the editor and has a hard time looking for a specific one. The more parts are added into the game the harder it is to remember exactly where one is placed. And even though this feature is not strictly necessary for some of the menus, like, for instance, control or science parts, it would make a great difference in propulsion and structural. So, let me know what you think about this, would you like to see it implemented? All feedback appreciated
  18. So glad you have been improving the parts menu in the VAB editor! Even if those are mostly small changes, all added together small changes make a big difference
