1.04 Patch if you unluckily decided to buy at GOG (or even 1.03 ?)

In some cases it has taken weeks or even months to provide updates. GOG was fantastic when it was a site bringing back old games DRM free, but I've made the mistake of buying newer titles near their launch date (RoTT, Shadow Warrior) and have been pretty disappointed with how they handle updates. Isn't the best option for KSP still to just buy directly from Squad? -
I personally didn't have a problem with it - playing on Moderate difficulty I've now managed to unlock maneuver nodes, EVAs and more than 30 parts - I can go anywhere from here. I kind of enjoyed the challenge. However, I also think it's not really well-designed for new players. The game should be teaching them how to play - I feel removing maneuver nodes at the start is a step in entirely the wrong direction. I managed to cope, but someone is bound to pick the "Explore the Mun" contract and find it's really hard to design a 30-part lander, and maybe they don't know the tricks to even actually get there. I also didn't like that it wouldn't show me the time to SOI change so I had to leave time acceleration at 1 for long times so as to not break the engine. I think the game could stand a redesign of the tech tree, and an improved contract system. The parts testing contracts are just too silly and grindy to bother with, it would be much better to have meaningful goals like "launch a communications satellite" or "launch a ScanSat mapping satellite". The tech tree should have more easily unlocked stages with vital bits of infrastructure, such as solar panels, batteries or ladders.

This is what happens when you end up at 6,000 Tm away from kerbol.

[1.12.x] Kerbal Alarm Clock v3.13.0.0 (April 10)

There's a small problem in Utilities.cs. It uses backslashes for the savefile paths, which fails on Linux. This causes "Backup failed" errors when clicking on "Jump to ship" with automatic backups turned on. I think just changing these to forward slashes should work everywhere.
