VASI - Glideslope Indicator ( Not Very useful )

I made this one as a PoC - Proof of Concept, This is not very useful because it's hard to see it from distance... unless you play KSP on a really high resolution...

I like it a lot! You could always use larger surfaces, brighter/more spots and place it further in front of the runway.

I know right, I tried to make Runway Lights once, same problem, the lights are so small untill you reach 500m or something...

I just throw a rover at each end of the runway (at the bottom of the grassy slope at each end) and use the indicators from those to work out if Im lined up properly.

That said, I like this, its a great idea even if its not fully workable in game.

Yeah, there's no really useful shader for those other than the one used on the runway lights ( which is no good unless you're making a part... ). There is a PAPI light mod around somewhere, you might be interested in.

I've actually built a complete runway, but waiting for 1.1 before messing with a long distance glow shader. Was considering something directional for aircraft lights - which would help for this sort of thing - but of course it wouldn't load until you were pretty close anyway, if it's stuck on a craft.

I drop something in the water 20km off the runway end so I have a target for deorbit, but for actual landing you can't really beat the NavUtilities mod.
