Please, Native Multi-Monitor Support!

Recommended Posts

Greetings SQUAD staff!

I, and many others, would love to see native multimonitor support implemented natively. For example, have your normal main game screen, then an orbital map and plugin windows on a second monitor. I envison putting the orbital map, with navball and mechjeb windows in a secondary touch screen. (Really looking at doing a little setup like a slimmed down dragon2 control panel.)

I'd like this too as I use 2 monitors on my desktop, but I also use the 2nd monitor to do other stuff while playing, so...

Wasn't there a mod or program that provided an old school dos looking readout of various parameters?  May or may not gave used telemachus plugin to get the data out, I'm not sure...

In theory this could be done as a mod as you will need to activate other view for your display...

(http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/MultiDisplay.html) I've never done a mod and don't have multidisplays on my personal mac (which is where I play) but I wonder if I can play for a little bit with this...

Hey, don't put words in my mouth!

Now, where was I....? Oh yes, multi monitor support. Absolutely, love the idea, should have happened long ago. :)

In all seriousness though, I imagine it's a non-trivial problem. It would have to be able to support all kinds of funky mis-matched screen resolutions.

I mean, look at some of the bugs that are present already in map mode when you're not running KSP at your screen's native resolution. And that's with just one screen. Imagine what craziness could pop up with two.

Not saying that it wouldn't be awesome to have, just that it likely has some very tricky things that would need to be taken care of to make it work properly.
