1.3 Install, Steam Rollback, Game Crashes

I recently bought the game (used to have it YEARS ago back in middle school, played it a few times since) and rolled it back to 1.3 in order to use some mods that I liked. However, every time the game finishes loading it crashes just before the main menu. I use CKAN, and I think that all these mods are compatible and up to date. If there are any that aren't please point them out, my trial and error testing is very slow and yielding unusual results.
