Not seeing any of the expansion parts

Question, I have started playing the game again after a long hiatus, and installed the two expansions (among a lot of other things). Not really sure what is in fault here, but I cannot see or use the two KSP expansion parts in career or sandbox. I have installed the two expansions (and they show up at the main menu page). When trying one of the missions though, they can't load because certain parts don't exist. Also, I can't find any of the parts in the VAB/SPH editors. I have no idea what is causing this. Could someone help me though?

I see a lot of entries like "UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "C:\Program Files\KSP_win64\GameData\SquadExpansion\Serenity\Parts\Aero\Assets\noseconeVS.mu" is denied.", quite possible that the NTFS permissions are causing the problem. I suggest you copy the complete KSP folder to the root directory and try playing from that.

I'm using KSP portable 1.7.3. So, what you say is that I should take the whole thing and put it in a folder in C:\ ?

Yes, and I recommend copying it, not moving, as moving within a partition won't change the NTFS permissions (it's just how NTFS works internally).
