Stage light stuck on purple/locked

I just recently downloaded this game on PC and I'm finding some parts quite troubling. My main problem is that when I go out to the launch pad and runway, my stage light is always stuck on purple (locked) so I'm unable to launch anything.

I know it’s a lot late, but make sure you can see the actual rocket stages on the left hand side of the screen. If not, click the rocket icon, below and a bit to the right of where they were. 
If you can see them, make sure you aren't in docking or maneuver mode where the Pitch/Roll/Yaw controls are. If you are in one of the 2 wrong modes, deselect them by clicking their icon.
