Still can't arrange the armour on the front third of my ship in a way i think looks ok. :( Lack of level attachment points.

I fail at putting the metal parts on.. you are way way more skilled.. If you cant get them on then it isnt hapening. :)

Bit of a showcase of my ligth interceptor formerly known as JSIF

Current version but armed with older torpedo using just 4 sepratrons with no spin, new one uses 6 sepratrons with spin

923431_4816891268164_1299934838_n.jpg

Direct hit!

Amount of damage was sufficient, but not comparable to new 6 sepratron torpedo

Do you have a ground interceptor by any chance?

Well, I have a plane carrying 1 SRB cruise missile sort of...

I will look deeper into atmo-fighters when there is a gap in PROJECT Babylo, since atmo fighters are not priority.

Co-6A: As the XC-402 had proved superior in most ways to the aging Co-4B, the Co-6 series was designed to even the odds. It has a higher fuel load allowing for long range journys while still keeping the high acceleration of its predcessors. It is a third longer than the Co-4B and costs considerably more due to its advanced features. The crew section is capable of ejecting in the case of an emergancy to preserve the crew.

Parts: 424

dV: ~5000

Weapon Points: 10

Engines: 12 Nervas

Power Cell: 6 PB-NUKs

Fuel: 3960 Units

'Wet Accel' 0.8G

'Dry Accel' 1.2G

Crew: 4

Ok, I'm going to start showing off a couple of old things. Because, you know, you can't like this thread and not feel the urge to contribute, even if you are supposed to be in the middle of exams and can't play much.

This is a light SSTO fighter with "decoupler railguns". It owes a lot to the KF-X1 Sparrow (did I get the name right?) in wing design, though it is not apparent in this shot.

And the first frigate I designed, made to carry three SSTO fighters to the edges of the solar system (and use them as armor if it is surprised with its pants down). And since one of the fighters is also modded with kethane equipment, bring them back. The carried fighters are modded K-22's (find them in my thread) with attachment points for missiles and whatnot (right now, spike cannons). The frigate itself has a couple of forward-facing dumb torpedoes, and six smart missiles to rearm the fighters. Plus, a detachable sensor probe for targeting at long distances and general spying. It also offers crew quarters for the long trip (they are planned to be deployed on the Jool system whenever the damn window finally opens).

Rune. There is a UKSN in my save, and it is well funded. Just in case.

*Shivers* Don't even mention the E word :P

Working on a rover to fit in my ships cargo bay. Hopefully won't upset the balance too much.

the best way to get rid of a capital ship in real time combat is a space mine its impossible for them to avoid because its moving towards you at whatever you orbital speed is doubled so by the time you see it standard view its too late

I won´t believe until I have a collision with one :D

Would you believe I once had a collision with orbital debris while building a space station? Seriously, I was like "what did just happen?", and it took me a long time to realize I had just hit an expended upper stage in elliptical orbit. But yeah, in practical terms, it's almost impossible to make them work if the target ships takes minimal precautions. 1m/s change of velocity each orbit, and they will miss all the time, and there is no way you can "fill" an orbit. As Tada says, read the first page of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Rune. I must be like the luckiest person ever. And not on the nice kind of luck.

Continuing the XC research line our engineers have felt there was a need to expand the XC-305's ability to provide logistical support to other members of the fleet. Specifically the ability to ferry and refuel fighter escorts. As such they have taken the best of the XC-305 and placed in on an extended spaceframe with a 5 by 5 engine configuration allowing for greater fuel capacity and the ability to ferry larger fighters into combat. While endurance and acceleration do not differ greatly from the 305, we consider the larger ship to be superior in fleet maneuvers than the 305 and the extreme precision that went into designing the propulsion system allows for maneuvering without the need for RCS even while at 100% throttle. The ship carries 11440 units of LOX, 9960 units of H2, 4 emergency fuel tanks, 8400 units of Xenon Gas arranged in 4 removable, reloadable xenon packs. The ship also carries enough jet fuel to provide refueling capabilities to air breathing Laythe based SSTO's. In another shift in cruiser design this ship is the first to rely solely on nuclear power for all major ships systems.

All that said I present to you the XC-700, the next evolution of the XC class ships.

Ok, consider this post as an order for as many as you can supply, with ascent stage and without mechjeb :-)

I thought I ´ll go with slightly modified X-305 but this is way ahead of antthing I could come up with. Hands down the best cruiser out there!

I can refit the ship for special orders. The configuration above was for space trials. The auxiliary solar panels will be removed, some heat shielding will be added near the engine mount points. Docking ports can be added or removed. What I did not realize until I sat and really looked at this ship.. it is just a bit under twice as long as the 305 and twice as wide.. lol And she doesn't snap her back under her own weight.

How many parts? Well, my computer would propably melt, I´ll maybe stick with X-305 slighlty modified... Propably X-305 as a light escort cruiser fits better. This is really a capital ship at it´s own sense! Definetly nice.

But it would by very nice to have such behemoth in my fleets disposal, we would surely the rule, I mean defend, the Joolian system with any problem :)

PRESENTING...

my first KSP frigate!

The Heinlein-class Gunboat!

Armed with 4 "Artemis" cannons (AKA the thingies I put on my space fighters), the Heinlein-class does not have much firepower, and instead is used on smaller, or less armored targets, especially fighters.

It is propelled by 3 LV-N rocket motors, providing a huge range. Originally, there were 4 motors, but I was required to remove one to balance the craft. Remnants of this 4th engine are shown by the tricoupler mounting the lower two motors that still remain.

Currently, I do not have much information as I literally just finished a testing stage. I still have yet to even develop a launch vehicle for it. I'll upload pictures in the morning, as my dad is already yelling for me to sleep. :P

Just...... Wow :) Its incredable. Youve definately mastered the art of making a ship look awsome.

I agree with using nuclear power rather than solar panels as they are a lot less fragile and can be hidden within the ship. I'm looking forward to them adding a fission reactor to power huge ships with :)

Ok time to start developing somthing big ;)

It's a heavy beast.. 344ish parts last count I believe. I'm considering replacing he plate armor with wing parts.. A the moment I have a feeling that if I go to low during an aerobrake the nose will want to lift uncontrollably. Adding wing parts in the back will help it maintain attitude. The metal plats also extend all the way down the middle on the underside of the ship whereas on top the center truss is exposed between the two top docking ports, may change that.. I may also put a fueltank between those 2 docking ports to balance out its side profile a little. Needless to say the XC-701 will be refined.
