Someone helo me stop me rockets tipping over PLEASE!

Recommended Posts

;.;

I made several large rockets including the one on the wiki for saturn V and one that HOCgaming made for getting to duna

Whenever I make big rockets they just take off flip over and crash.

Little rocket parts fine, big rocket parts IMPOSSIBLE. Man I really wanna use the 3 person capsule but every single time I make a rocket for it it just flips over, even when I exactly follow someones directions on youtube I still done get it right apparently. But Im doing everything perfectly why do the rockets work for them and not me?

The one thing I didnt do is do the action group bc I dont know how and I still dont know what a gimbal is.

Hi im new by the way, this issue has been extraordinarily frustrating so I apologize for the abruptness

In VAB, there is a button for showing center of mass. Center of mass needs to be in center of rocket for it to not tip over. If you're building a rocket with asparagus staging, make sure you connect fuel lines correctly. They should be symmetical on each side.

You should put up a few pictures that shows what goes wrong. It always helps.

I can tell you what a gimbal is though. It's an engine part that allows the engine to make alterations to which direction it applies all of it's trust.

Think of it as a rudder that can be used to steer in all directions.

Keep in mind that in order to make fine adjustments you use RCS/flaps.

You want your center of mass to be as close to the engines as you can get it in the early going. Design your ship like a pyramid (narrow at the top, wide at the bottom). If you're still tipping over, try adding fins to the lower parts of the rocket; fins do absolutely no good near the top.

Just general ideas. To get a good idea of what you would need to do in this case, a screenshot would be useful.
