Controlling a spacecraft from a command seat

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have been building an escape pod for my space station, however I have found that I cant control its rotation from a command seat, even though the escape pod has an SAS unit.

Does anyone know why this is?

Well sorry if this sounds dumb but I have to check... is there a kerbal in the command seat, and do you have a probe core or other command piece for it? I do know that a command seat still requires some kind of other control unit to control a craft, as you can't make a ship using only a command seat. If you mount the command seat to an OKTO2 or something though it should work.

Nope, you can make a ship without any pod besides the command seat. you cannot have a command seat as the root part, but the root doesn't have to be a pod anymore, it can be anything that doesn't only surface attach, eg an SRB.

The command seat has no rotational power of it's own though so the craft needs some other way to turn.
