Not Responding

Does anyone else suffer from Not Responding several times during a game, or is it just me? The reason I ask is that I am running KSP on two computers, with different versions of Windows and I am experiencing this on both machines, which makes me think it might be a game problem rather than a computer problem, hence the question.

Yeah I experience it as well. I don't know if it's a KSP issue because I get it with other games during loading screens as well.

Not responding, as in your craft no longer accepts inputs?

Yes I get that.

1. You could be warped without knowing it, check.

2. Switch to another craft and back.

No it's not the craft, it's a message across the top of the game window (I don't play full screen) that says "Kerbal Space Program (Not Responding)". It usually lasts for a few seconds before waking up again.

this has only been happening to me lately when switching scenes(i.e from SPH to VAB), it passes after 10 seconds... but still, that's 7 seconds too long

My guess is it's the game itself. Basically, there is something loading in the main event loop thread which is slow. This causes any message from the OS to be queued, and the OS interprets this as unresponsive.

I've had it once, when changing SOI to the Mun.

Minimizing the window normally fixes it for me.

This has been happening with me since I got the game back in 0.18.2. It used to only happen when loading scenes, but ever since the performance hit in 0.21 (scene loading is 3x as slow, I tested) I get it when loading crafts as well.

I on occasion get the "Spinning Beach Ball of Death," which is basically the same. Most often when the Mun first enters draw distance.

That just means it's thinking hard, and doing so without checking if you hit a key or clicked the mouse. Pretty standard of you have large spacecraft ("large" depends on your computer, but hundreds of parts).

yep happened to me since .21 hopefully .22 will fix it
