I depends on what you want to have to worry about. If it is only oxygen, co2, and electricity then you will want ioncross lifesupport. If you want food, waste, water, waste water, in addition to what Ioncross has then you will want Tac lifesupport. I don't know what ECLSS deals with but, both TAC and ioncross support resource depletion on unactive vessels now.

Edit: Ioncross has not been updated to 0.23 and may not be updated for a while. ECLSS appears to use oxygen, co2, and electricity.

Currently I would recommend TAC.

agreed. ECLSS Does have some COOL looking parts and I do like the interface it has where you can see troubled o2 levels on anyship at one glance. it has really cool alerts managements too .. so all of those are really cool but the problem i see so far is that no one BUT TAC covers the diversity of LS issues. However!! I don't see a co2 scrubber in the TAC lineup. That sucks because there Should be one imho.

Though you couldn't circulate it I suppose if someone were to creatively borrow one they could make the stats work but meh ....

WELL!! don't I feel silly!! TAC Wins >> "Now includes recycling parts for converting CarbonDioxide back into Oxygen, WasteWater back into Water, filtering Oxygen out of IntakeAir, and splitting Water into Oxygen and Waste (hydrogren)." << in the revised update. Ugh I sit and tell my kids "get yer facts before you talk about it, if you're making a point." then promptly suffer "foot in mouth disorder".

Pluss they allied with others to used other container types:

The only problem that I see with TAC is that adds A LOT OF PARTS. Main isssue is their containers. Maybe if there was a pluging to use with real fuels and stretchy tanks this could be solve.

So for now I will still use ECLSS.

that is all true but the stats of the parts can be added with but a few key strokes ... besides I am using ECLSS right now too. I do like it but it is seriously missing a lot of detail .. yes it is cool and like i said i love the co2 scrubber and even the consumption rates .. but guess what? TAC allows me to set my consumption rates .. it now has a scrubber just like ECLSS has BUT it also adds in waste ware waste consumption food food consumption and with that .... that other stuff that doesn't go in the yellow funnel (if you are an ISS nerd you'll get that joke). Too many parts? Do like what we all do raid the parts folder and toss out the ones you don't want!! lol I mean i love Kosmos but its parts are leaky and something like eating a runaway culture ... they bloom and take over ram .. so what do ya do?? take the parts you want toss the ones you don't! same with TAC .. but at least you have the structure .. which is pretty dang cool.

I have used ECLSS a few times and am quite a fan. My main annoyance is that theres no way to create perpetual systems (realism bah) unless you can leverage some kind of resource mod or tweak the numbers. Even with the scrubbers you slowly lose O2 which makes bases and stations a logistical nightmare unless you are going to close the loop somehow. Longrange interplanetary stuff becomes tricky too, i ended up doing a lot of high-speed transfers for huge dV to fit time constraints.
