I just wanted to take the time and express how glad I am that the ksp community is not only nice but willing to go out of there way to help new players with any questions they have. I only bring this up because hearthstone recently officially launched and I decided to visit their forums. All the name calling, put downs and just general hate made me miss these forums. So again thank you everyone for your ability to be patient with new players and your civil attitude.

It is a lovely community, isn't it. But then again, it's hardly surprising, (amateur) physicists are hardly a militant lot.

It does help that there's little to get aggressive about in a space exploration simulation. Some of us occasionally get competitive about our accomplishments, but there's not really any sort of way to grief other players on that front, so even there the community is by and large quite civil.

Yeah, the KSP forums are generally devoid of the name-calling and general abuse found elsewhere on the internet.

Yep. Proud to be a member. The only thing that gets me riled up is when I fight to make a case about my shuttle. Otherwise, I like to keep it calm

I think it's mostly because of the type of game. The kind of trolls that make most forums a hell probably wouldn't understand KSP

Comparing my experiences with the communities/forums of World of Warcraft, Star Trek Online (yup, even over there, must be the dreaded PvP mostly...) and Sim City (4), Civilization (5) ... yup, Kerbal attracts a more peaceful lot.

I Find It Very Very Friendly its Devoid of Spam trollers i call it The Friendliest Corner of the Internet.

So far I have Not encountered Trolls And such. Its Peaceful.

Probably the forums reflect the game itself. I imagine if KSP went massively multiplayer and became popular both the game and the forum would be full of penii.

Totally agree.

I haven't seen a game Community this friendly since City of Heroes, and its not just this forum! The steam forum for this game is just as nice. I just love how a person posts a problem and he gets 5-6 answers before I can even see the thread.

You are probably right about that

If say a famous youtuber played KSP with a childish fan base believe all the they all have a press here to ruin KSP community button the same thing would probably happen if KSP gone into a MMO.

Lets Hope that KSP's community does not Get ruined by that scenario.

The harshest this place got was at the height of the mechjeb debates. I think there might have been some name calling and snobbery between the people who used mechjeb and those who beleived it was cheating.

Still is, occasionally. It's a pretty ridiculous argument... After all, not even NASA would dare fly completely manually. Only reason we can risk it in KSP is because it's a simulation.
