Ion engines, other stuff, and still not crashing.

Probably because novapunch and squad both have texture reductions on them.

Out of interest, how long does it take to start up with that lot installed? I have an install with the default realism overhaul pack plus SCANsat and that takes about 12 minutes to start up. Not fun when you're trying to debug a plugin problem...

A little less than 4min to the main menu. Thats the beauty of not loading textures on startup

Though it admittedly takes another ~2min until background-loading part texture thumbs finishes.
