Both those towers look light. The Drek would barely notice if one was gone.

pretty much XD They are just there because i didn't have room inside the armor plating for it, so i put the least valuable equipment on them. THey're really light, only about 4 tonnes each. Plus, the Drek can go straight even with one engine down; I doubt two little towers make a difference. Hell, she can lose half her armor and keep straight.

Also, I need to know how to make shredders for my ships, I still don't know how to make them.

Shredders bascally are homebrew guided missiles with shrapnel clipped inside them, all built around a high-impact core. However, they also can be a tad bit tricky to use, and do heavily boost your partcount. Another drawback is that ultra-rigid hulls sometimes bounce Shredders.

That's why a couple of my ships use them, but the rest use AP-tipped SRBs.

Not that difficult. Take a 1x1 panel, put a warhead on it, put a lot of thrust behind it, and slap a docking port and decoupler on each end.

Yep, that's pretty much it XD Althoug the new Drek XIV-V can now take several shredders before getting disabled, and the armor still hasn't been broken (mabye my missiles are just bad?) :P

However, I have to say that your new Drek is pretty darn tough (it also may have been a matter of phys-lag :P), as it shrugged off all an SRB and a quad-salvo of i-beam rounds, leaving only the 1.25m rounds in it's launch tube broken. That's pretty darn good, seeing as the ship could still run. :P

I will be uploading the SX-10 soon, once Dropbox (which I've been using lately) starts working again.

Also, this made me realize how large the SX-10 is compared to a Drek...

Nah, I just think 0.25's going to be an update where it's going to require more firepower to seriously damage capital ships.

That Drek is just incredible! I've never seen a ship that can take damage like that. I remember a while ago we were at the point of deciding that armour was pretty much pointless as anything could get through.

My only problems with the Drek series compared to the Co series is lack of range and acceleration.

Wait which ship are you guys firing at? The XXV? Every time I shoot at it it breaks in half.... :P thats strange XD

@Spartwo, I'm on my way, I just fitted some long range fuel tanks to the XIV's, they should get me there. We'll see

It's 100% new design, but it's basically a Drekevak XIV armor, MORE FUEL (4400L inside FYI Spartwo) with the fuel tanks in smarter positions, and smaller profile (it's an XIV on a diet)... Weight is 93 tonnes and carries 4 missiles, and is only $184,000 so she's more economical than an XIV. Might just be the perfect replacement for XIV-IVs.
